I had to go back and check, so the Caretaker is the real target of the SoS and their paymaster? They actually want to get caught between Mike and the Caretaker?

Pretty cool to know that Titiana was taking the Order people for a little tour of the fae realm.

So if Mike takes out the Captain does he inherit the Captain's power/magic? Not to mention his minions?

Finally if they now have possession of the Society's old prison, makes you wonder who prisoner(s) was(were) already there. If Cyrus were to release some of these prisoners where would their allegiance lie?

Still curious about the night marchers. Do they work for Pele or are they their own little fiefdom.

I like how you don't know and this allows the various groups autonomy and agendas.

Amazing adventure story and I like it a lot, and love the characters. BUT: this is barely a literotica story anymore. YET another chapter and AGAIN zero spicy sex?? I'm starting to not get all the sex references in the comments section. It's not a sexy story anymore. For fans that kept writing in saying that they don't like "pointless" sex scenes, I refer you back to the early chapters that hooked us all. There was lots of sex and it was NEVER pointless. I recall after Mike was with Ratu that first time, he and Tink went to rest in the naga's tent and had a nice sexy romp. Pointless? No, it was character development. Take this chapter for instance. Mike could have had a sexy scene with Ratu if Pele wasn't there. Or with anyone at the house as he checked in with them. Or with Titania, who we almost never see anymore. Great adventure story, but not sexy. Simply alluding to sex that happens off-screen does not a sexy story make. Again, I love the story, and thank you Miss Annabelle, but from one fan who loves the adventure but loves the bonding that can happen between characters through the sex even more, can we see more of it it?

I also wonder if this is going to become a theme with each of the girls playing a vital role in the main story arc, in which case I'm looking forward to when Sofia and Amymone have their moments, they are very intriguing and mysterious characters that haven't offered much about their previous lives aside from a love of literature.

It wasn't really a twist that they are going after Mike OR the Monster Girls, was it?

The prison in the mountains, and Cyrus getting dragged into that fiasco-in-waiting was a nice twist...well done!

Cyrus is NOT surviving this book. He is getting the 'noble warrior death' treatment, no doubt. He is all alone, stuck with nothing-but bad guys, and the most powerful ones, basically.

The fact that Spider-Sis was fooled (for once) was also a good 'twist' of sorts, and that the bad guys knew the trucks were bugged for once was well done. (For the record, 'Suburban' is a proper noun as a model name, not a type of vehicle like 'sedan' or 'coupe'. 'Large SUV' might be the generic term being sought for 'Suburban', but that is like 'facial tissue' is to Kleenex.)

Are the chapters shorter...or are we just wanting MORE (and sooner)?

I was all ready to consider this purely a 'connecting' or 'bridge' chapter, until the "Cyrus Goes to the Mountains" twist popped up. That really upped the stakes.

I'm not personally concerned about the lack of sex in the story. Sure, that was the original hook, but this series has gone so far beyond that in terms or world-building and character development, the sex almost gets in the way of telling the STORY.

Having said that...it does seem like some of the plot is getting rushed, and what feel like clear opportunities for Mike to expand his harem are being skipped or pushed off.

Why no three-way with Pele and Mike and Ratu? Why not Kisa and Beth, for that matter? When is Ingrid getting taken in, at least as a service partner or something? I'm fine without anymore sex at all in this series, but...why tease them then retreat? We don't really need edging in our written porn/smut, do we? Certainly not in such a really high quality story.

Just my thoughts...

Dear Annabelle, I don't undestand how on earth did Mike and the crew travel from the belly of the volcano to the hotel so fast.

Reading this again for the 2nd time, I am fairly positive that Darius guy is really Sarah due to the necklace. Also, I have a strong suspicion that someone else was correct in guessing the new Director is Ratu's ex.

As a big fan of all the scenes between Mike and his kids, this chapter scratched that itch for me. Hopefully we see even more at the end of this book.

The underground facility came out of nowhere, really cool stuff, and it was used be the society before? Maybe Amir will be sometimes in the future be connected to the SoS and their project? Anyways, I can already picture a great breaking-in scene with Mike into that facility to rescue his loved ones.

Also a nice comeback of Titania, already forgotten how much of a sceamer she was.

Next chapter will surely be awsome, but this already has earned 5* easily.
