Switching to the wife’s perspective removed the tension from the tale. It remained interesting, but lost the emotional impact. Nevertheless, well written, so four stars.

That wasn't how the plan was supposed to go. I wanted, no, needed to set him free. That, after all, would be the most correct thing I'd done since my night with the Beast. I didn't deserve him anymore, and knew it, even if he was suddenly undecided. It would take a monumental effort just to put our relationship back on solid ground. Well written, but the wife is a complete bitch. Hubby Rob moves out for two weeks and she is getting impatient as her oh-so-sophisticated friends mock him and she agrees. Then when a month has passed, she hits the "man up and talk" but decides to tell him she is divorcing him; I would add that it appears he was ready to talk to her and possibly repair the marriage. But oh no, it would be just so much work and she "needs more". What a bitch. I will read the next part but honestly I have zero expectations of it. It's way too late to burn the bitch and there is no way that he should ever reconcile with this woman.

I think the proper word for the wife's character is narcissistic c*nt. Cold bloodedly ditch her spouse in a public and humiliating way for a fling, then come go back, no remorse, and tell him to just 'live with it'? Call it his ego getting in the way and childish for not wanting to get back together? Geeze. He would have been better served to have her served the week she got back and call it what it was: infidelity. Obviously a story in the February Sucks category.

Barb comes across in this part as a thoroughly unlikable narcissistic woman. Her husband, whom she betrayed,isn't ready to talk to her for a couple of weeks and she tells him "to grow a pair". She then decides she wants bright lights and big city and basically concludes that she has outgrown Rob and her family obligations. In the meantime, within a few months of his wife's very public betrayal of her marriage, Rob apparently meets her ready to talk about continuing the marriage and she just presents him with a list of things she wants in the divorce.

There is literally nothing about her in this part of the story that comes across as a good or decent person. She blew up her marriage not just by making a despicable choice to cheat, but then can't wait a month or so before she decides she needs a divorce because her husband is just being too rigid. Honestly, Rob dodged an even bigger bullet than the cheating with some asshole NFL player; her mindset of "wanting more" is so toxic that she can't wait a few weeks until her husband is ready to talk. She plainly would have cheated again and not just with the asshole football player. I dread the next part because I have a feeling that they will reconcile when the only outcome that would be good for hubby would be to keep Barb the Bitch as far away from himself as possible.

Got to love the way this mad bitch is calling her husband all kinds of shit when she flat out said she would be devastated if he had done that to her. And the families All siding with her? My family would be getting cut off totally if they showed any of that disrespect band disloyalty.

Her attitude afterwards was highly disdainful. While it wasn't James Bond villain level, it was shit happened, yes I fucked up, talk to.me, and grow a pair. Huh? No real contrition. Then she determines that while yes she was at fault, they were drifting anyways. Decides that she would be happier anyways without him as she doesn't want to spent the time or effort to repair something that might not be repairable and then out of the goodness of her heart decides for him that is better that they get a divorce because she couldn't respect him, if he accepted things and they reconciled? Wtf? And possibly the worst is post divorce filing, she calls Billy again (btw why the fuck would he be interested in divorced housewife 11 years older?) and while that first night (during which ironically they didn't just fuck like Linda and Marc in FS, but made love a couple of times and talked a LOT throughout the night and didn't have sex that morning but he was all worried about how she would be with her husband) Billy appeared to be a nice guy trying to persuade her to make her own choice, he comes clean and tells her that he knew what would happen and figured the family would get busted up and they would get a divorce, but hey he liked her and oh well he didn't reallyndonher any favors. But guess what? Despite his confession yeah she beds him again. Having even more cosmic sex, making love not just fucking. Classy! Poor her, now that there is familiarity and they have zilch in common, the third time is not satisfactory and they never have sex again. Great! She wins the brass ring for being a cheating slut but worse a non-repentant shrew who can't give her husband some distance to cope and she pulls the rug out from their marriage, wanting a divorce. From the early parts of Chapter 1, who is this woman who doesn't own up to what she did (yeah she says it at times, and thinks it but she doesn't mean it because her actions and other words do NOT reflect contrition or atonement). This new woman rationalized that their marriage was not sufficient for her anyways even before this, in direct contrast yo how they acted pre auction with one another, but now she needs more.and cannot be bothered with the worj for reconciliation and decided hey she can't be bothered with how it.might be rough, uncertain or lengthy. And besides she can't stay with a guy who would reconcile without losing respect, knowing full well what she would do if roles reversed, so hey she takes the decision out of his hands. And then temporarily seeks solace.with Billy, who admitted into being all too happy that first night to smoothly and deftly let her hang herself and kill her marriage. Nice! I didn't think it possible, but I think the author created a wife that is worse than Linda in February Sucks. At least with Linda (base story), it was fucking and cosmic sex but not making love, and full dating, and emotional bonding, and talking about thr state of her marriage, etc. And while Linda was a self-centered bitch, she at least finally woke up to.what she did, and reconciled, working hard to keep Jim. Of course what Linda did was repugnant and her letter about the night is rough to read and her attitude is more delusional and maybe the lead up to the betrayal was worse (though somewhat similar). But at least Linda fell under a spell and went straight for it, and then came back. This bitch tepidly put herndoot into the water, got swept up, had multiple chance to back out, broke hee wedding vows, made tender love to the guy (wrf?) and was bonding to Billy with beginning of a relationship BUT afterwards as crazy is it sounds, her attitude just sucked, she was impatient and childish, and then rationalized marriage was failing anyways and she wanted more (umm bullshit she maimed it), doesn't want to invest time or effort to fix it and reasons she could not respect him if he reconciled with her. Lol? Glad to hear that she feels after her betrayal that SHE is the one to make all the decisions and apparently she doesn't want reconciliation anyways after 2 months post incident for a number of bs reasons that are clinically applied with no emotion. /applause. Ding ding ding! We have a winner. Barbara is worse than Linda. Amazing. Good job! She must be proud. Does.she get a cash prize for that?

The wife shows no real remorse

It's not that she's a cold hearted monster, it's that this part has... No feeling, at all, it was like a "cheating spouse" checklist, no remorse, sadness, anger, fear, nothing.

It was almost like reading about a sociopath, incredibly hard to get into it because there was very little to get into.

Good follow up to the first part. Life leads us in strange directions. Thanks for your writing.

Why on earth are these guys such wimps? After what she did or Linda in Feb sucks the only answer is instant divorce. Sorry, but no reconciliation or endless whining. She made her choices. Why? Usually in a RAAC you want the cheater to have some sort of realization of there wrong doing. Barb seems to be doubling down with the divorce and than dating Billy. As an amateur writer I realize there are all kinds of choices to make for your characters. Making those choices on the way to reconciliation seems odd to me.

Revenge on Billy batson, oh i mean breast beast whatever. That is a definite. She took her excuses from the cheaters handbook like all sluts do.

Very well written part two. It was good to read the viewpoint of the wife in this. But I'd have liked it to be more mixed up so we have some idea of how Rob is thinking. The whole I'm not ready to talk doesn't really cover things. I can't decide if Barbara is a good person who deliberately did an awful thing and expects to be able to get past it somehow or if deep down she just is callous, selfish and awful and pretended to be a decent person. She knew what she was doing. She did it because she could. She knew it would hurt her husband and kids but just decided to be selfish. The whole I'll divorce him to set him free is a big pile of garbage. She didn't do it for him. She did it for herself. She didn't want to carry on being "punished" by Rob because every day apart but still being married just reminded her of her stupid callous betrayal and how she could hurt those she was supposed to love and protect. Therefore get out, get away, make a new life and pretend she isn't some sort of awful person. I honestly feel she has some sort of mental disorder and is a high functioning sociopath. I've also got a feeling where this is going and that the author will turn this into a reconciliation and their time apart is her punishment but she will be the "good wifey" from then on. But of course will always have her memories of Billy bonking to keep her warm and revved up when she needs it. BardnotBard
