"How much did you see?" I openly asked Oscar.
"I see all," he confessed.
I looked across the room. Marco was still fast asleep. I knew that Marco, even though he was polite and reserved, wore his heart on his sleeve. He would not be able to conceal his shock and emotion if he learned that Oscar had watched us.
"You enjoyed watching, didn't you?" I accused him.
"As I told you, my greatest joy is watching your happiness. And, tonight, you looked happy indeed. Yes, I enjoyed it immensely," Oscar admitted.
"I don't pretend to understand. I would divorce you if I caught you with another woman. But I won't deny that I enjoyed Marco's company immensely."
Oscar brushed off my concern. "Company? Is that what you call it?" Oscar chuckled. "Anyway, it seems your young lover prefers you to the young, sexy women of his age on the beach. Are you happy now?" Oscar asked matter-of-factly.
"Yes. You see Oscar. It is as I told you. Faith is always rewarded in the end," I whispered into my husband's ear.
"So, it is, so it is," he concurred.
