"Bye mum!" Jenny replied, trying to sound cheerful and hung up.
She threw her smartphone at her pillow, took her thin coat, and headed to the dorm's entrance. Still trembling, she opened the pack of cigarettes Sophie had given her. She clumsily removed one and lit it in her mouth. Taking deep drags, she calmed down. How could she avoid her parents without giving anything away? - It had to be something she could not do at her parents' house.
Coming up with nothing, her focus shifted to her cigarette. This was the first one she had smoked without Sophie at her side. That was it... Sophie would know a way to fix this.
After finishing her cigarette, she rushed back to her room, picked up the phone from her bed, and wrote a quick text to Sophie:
"I need your help NOW"
Only a few minutes later she got a reply:
"I'm on my way."
