Amazing concept

I don't think I appreciated this chapter when I read it the first time around as much as I do now. Having Martin accept being "Marcia" and his role as the barons wife strictly in an effort to reduce his sufferring and improve his standing in the house is inspired writing. Martin is learning that he has to play the game if he is to ever hope to achieve his goal of divorce and freedom.

I feel this story could easily precede the Martin Hastings "holiday" chapters you wrote for fun as "one-offs" as examples of Martin's attempts to use his role as wife to alleviate some of the agony and embarrassment he endures publicly, privately, daily and nightly.

All together a well thought out and written chapter!
