Melissa nodded looking thoughtful, but they got home shortly after. Sir James had just left, having according to Belle succumbed completely to Fliss's charm. Christy and the twins were preparing lunch and Manon went downstairs smiling as Fliss told her all about her new Uncle James, who apparently wasn't nearly so grumpy as he looked.
