I feel reasonably safe in saying to the other anonymous and dirtywhiteboy67 that this wasn't the end of the story. Just think of it as the end of this particular moment of her life. The people around her have changed some. We'll get to learn more about the new people as things occur. Lenore, Agatha and Martha could have involvement.

The author has already indicated trouble in the future we haven't seen yet. So change will continue occurring in Jessica's life both good and bad. Stay on your surf board and ride the gentle swells, race through the excitement of the curls, and hold on tight near the rocks. Wolf daughter's sea of life could wash anyone ashore.
