I know this is the writer's story and they can write it however they want, but the shortcoming to most of these kinds of tales is, common sense tells you, at some point the victim says enough is enough. They either get help from someone or plan vengeance on the captor. This chapter had that feeling, with her backed into a corner, except nothing happens. So unlike a normal story with ups and downs, twists and turns, most of these just keep adding humiliations until the writer runs out of gas. It seems obvious mom or the kid being bullied, would be seeking revenge at this point.
