Marianne and I looked at each other and smiled.
I went to get the car, put the bags and the surfboards in the back and, after a last look to the beach, we started the trip. I drove slowly because I didn't want to be caught in the rush hour. Marianne was silent most of the time, until she exclaimed:
"Don't ever leave me, Michael."
"Even when I'm really old, wrinkled and toothless?" - I asked smiling.
She punched me in the arm and we both laughed.
