It's odd. If I didn't know better, I am pretty certain that this is the first coming out story that I have read where both partners have a good experience telling their family and friends that they are lesbians. Maybe it's just the way that the story was told and my memory is failing me. It is a nice change of pace, and it's too bad that society can't be more accepting.
