"Where you been brother? I came past with the quotes that Lee gave us on the two combines and you had not gotten home yet. That was a half an hour ago." He said.

Wednesday-- third week:

I had gotten a good nights sleep when morning came. I was still in work mode having gotten up early for the last three years working in Mt. Vernon. I got up showered, shaved and dressed for the day.

Over breakfast I reviewed the harvester quotes and as I had originally thought, the bigger combine was going to be our best choice for the money. I called Lance and told him to go with the bigger combine so he could get it ordered and delivered before harvest. Also suggested that he and Larry might talk to the high school FFA advisor and see if he had a student or two that would want to work part time on the farm with harvest and planting next spring. He liked that idea though it should have to be a student that was 16 and preferably with some farm experience.

I grabbed my briefcase and laptop and headed out to pick up the girls in Fairfield then head to Mt. Vernon for our appointments. We were getting tested for STDs and the girls were having checkups to get on birth control.

I had just gotten to Fairfield when Rob called.

"Hello Rob, how are you this morning?"

"Well, I looked over the contract for the complex and it is good to go. They included everything that we asked for. If you want to get with Jerry at the bank today to sign the agreement and pay them some in escrow the work could begin this week to make the construction corrections if the crews are available." "Super, I'll call Jerry when he gets in and set it up. Thanks for you help."

I pulled up to Gram's and got out and knocked on the door.

Gram's answered. "The girls are just finishing some breakfast and are ready to go." She said.

They came into the living room and I said, "Good news, the contract for the apartment complex is good to go. I'm going to call the bank and schedule to meet and sign it on the way back through."

"Does that mean you will be spending more time here in Fairfield?" Kala asked.

"Yes it does. Part of the contract allows for me to set up in the office and use the attached apartment if I need to stay over a night or two. Also, could one of you girls drive us to Mt. Vernon? I need to make a few phone calls."

During the drive I called Sid and told him I'd be signing the contract today if possible and for him to let Tom know so he can get the subcontractors alerted to get the corrections made.
