calgarycampersalmost 4 years agoYears ago, I was one of two Santa's at our local children's hospital. One goes to the school in the hospital and sees all the kids who can leave their beds. That is FUN!
The other goes room to room. Seeing childrdn who are dying, abused or EXTREMELY sick will rip your heart out. Seeing one of these children and finding them absolutely alone is the worst.
You suck it up, HO HO HO and put a huge smile on. You cannot fake this, the kids will know.
It is common to completely break down between rooms.
Still, it is a fond memory and can remind us how beautiful life and love are.
