Not a correction (language evolves like other living things) but a historical note. “Dime bag”—back in ‘67 when I bought my first one—was a one-ounce baggie (with a twist tie; ziplocks came later) of marijuana that then cost $10, hence the “dime.”
BTW, I disagree about the glossary at the top. Although your note about ebonics might include the fact that there is one at the end, for those who don’t expand their vocabulary from context.
@biologo This story is intentionally abandoned. I've been on the fence about just deleting it for years.
I have a rewrite in the works - currently on chapter 6 I think. That will be published, most likely; as soon as one more story in my Naked Alien's series goes out. It may or may not come out before the next part of Jacaranda (which is also in the Naked Aliens series).
