For such a canon classic like Sleeping Beauty, I'm -wowed- by how you've made it your own! Nods in all the right places but -not- a simple rehash, and it plays up the magic in a way I haven't seen outside the Jolie films. Speaking of, there are hints this may involve a similar twist, where the heart of the story instead lies in the Fae world. ;)

I don't know if you're familiar with Tolkien's essay "On Fairy-Stories"; if not, I recommend it. The first three paragraphs of this piece are aligned with it.
