3:00am, Thursday, July 13th...

It was my Police cellphone. Bowser began barking his head off, until Carole said "Hush, Bowser!". The barking stopped. I answered it as Laura went to attend Carole and Bowser.
"Troy." I said.
"Sir, this is Captain Croyle." said Teresa. "You can't come here, but you might want to go to Headquarters. We've got a huge group of people on Courthouse Square, mostly black, all wearing those red shirts, some carrying torches, many masked. They were advancing on the statue of Thomas Jefferson, until I surrounded it with the SWAT Team and a bunch of Third Shift Officers..."
"I'll be right down." I said.

Anonymousover 6 years agoCould a Crowbar meeting with "The Teacher" and 4 of the other 5 powers in the black community be in the offing? Does the Iron Crowbar reveal to them how they are being used by George Schwarz to destroy themselves and give to Schwarz and his friends like the late Nathan Bedford more power?
Anonymousover 6 years agoWOW! A great read. Your storytelling is improving with each story. I believe this is the strongest start you have ever offered in your tales. Loved the dig at McConnell, he is why I think there should be term limits.

tranzmany: obviously the Town & County is not the real world, but it should be. :o) I do believe that strong (not abusive, but strong) law enforcement and doing the right things by the Constitution are the most effective solutions. Weakness is taken advantage of by thugs who wish to see the Constitution (which is actually what protects those thugs) destroyed. But my stories are written to generate the readers' thoughts on the issues, so what you (plural) come up with may differ from the author's own opinions...
the ol' man: It's not the NFL but college football that 'distracts' me. Readers might be aware that I am a fan of SEC football; not like I haven't given some Easter eggs in that direction. :o) But things are starting to flow for my next series of stories, and some of what you are reading down is laying groundwork.

Anonymousover 6 years agoTrust you and all the folks you know and care about have not been harmed by Irma. Not real "happy" your writing plays 2nd fiddle to the NFL but at least we hungry readers are in the sadism if not on the playing field. :( :( :(
