"Conserving your energy?" I asked.

"Something like that," Jenny answered. "Did you have a good week?"

"I did."

"How about Madison?"

"You'd have to ask her but she never complained all week," I told her. "How about you?"

"Me too. I suggest we dispense with the recaps of the week, agree that we all had and good time and commence with the welcome home part of the agenda," she said.

"Deal," I said.

"Here or upstairs?" asked Jenny.

"There are clean sheets on the bed," I told her.

"The bedroom it is then," said Jenny. She took my hand and led me upstairs.

We went to work Monday morning, scarcely less tired than we were on Saturday afternoon.

Jerry came in to work about an hour late. We didn't ask him to explain.

Jerry was late on Tuesday and again on Wednesday.

Anne called and asked us to pick her up Wednesday evening.
