I jump. Jen came back downstairs without my noticing. I was so lost in thought, I have just been standing in the kitchen staring at a can of beans in my hand.

"Somewhere nice, I hope," she replies and reaches into a grocery bag for the last few items.
"Gonna do spaghetti tonight," she says. "That work for you?"
"Yeah. I'm going to be practicing until then."

I go to leave the kitchen, but stop.
"Hey," I say, not really looking at her, "Willis and I were thinking of doing a two-day hike later this week, Thursday to Friday. That alright with you?"
"Sure," she says, "Sounds like fun!"
I walk away.

RTR108 months agoI was trying to think about where this could be going. They don't really talk to each other, it's just sex, & then there's the age difference & of course he's married & loves his wife....it's it's not like they have a future together. I doubt they'd even WANT a future together. However, maybe Jen could get involved, turn it into a threesome. That would keep him from feeling so guilty. Kid leaving for college, a whole lot of sexual mischief he & Jen could get into. Just a thought.....
RTR108 months agoOh boy, he's playing with fire. Jen will probably run into Willis & find out he's not with him. Then she'll know he's having an affair....just not WHO he's having the affair with.
