1. Yes, there is a typo in the story description. I will submit an edit soon to address it.
2. The story was inspired by true events, but several parts were changed. i) Rachel wasn't actually an escort, she was our friend from our university days. In fact, she was the one who suggested the trip idea and meeting up with her. Perhaps a story about her and our younger days would be interesting. ii) The photograhpy session was with a professional photographer, instead of students, and it did cost a lot.
3. There was nothing troubling about the marriage, it had just gotten too comfortable and routine.
4. I'm not sure why folks are concerned about VD/STDs/STIs, this is not an exact retelling of actual events.
5. The whole point of the trip was to break the routine and take risks. For a couple who did everything together, having solo adventures was an exciting risk. The only part Sarah 'upset' about (regarding the solo trip to the massage parlour) was that she didn't get to go as well.
