So, Julianna's glass was coated with a film of clear, tasteless, odorless poison, a la what happened to the Charles Bronson character in the movie "The Mechanic"? Nice!

jflindersjflindersabout 1 year ago

A couple of things:

1. She said there was never any love between her and her sex partners. Peter was a regular partner and there was the call he'd ended with "Yes, I love you too Julianna" that after that night the main character seems to have forgotten about.

2. The main character was going to give up his contract to protect his identity and not be investigated, then realized that he could kill Peter but not Julianna so long as Peter's death looked like an accident. I don't know that someone as careful as he claimed to be would kill Julianna in the same way he killed her lover. Julianna wasn't a heart patient taking viagra and in fact there's no indication that any heart disease would be found in her, so her death raises at least some possibility of an investigation into the husband, whose line of work wouldn't pass an investigation. I'd have expected her to die in some way that wouldn't raise any suspicion and while he wasn't with her.

Good story, it will take her 10-15 minutes to die, that last talk would’ve gone on a bit longer, would’ve loved to have read that. What would or could she say in her last minutes to him?

I’m curious now.

Scores 5/5

Great story. Very unique take compared to other hitman stories I've read here in the past. Some people here may not approve because it involves murder, but this is just a story after all, it's made for entertainment so it can't be taken too seriously.

One detail about the ending I can't get over is that when the cops find the connection between Peter and Julianna and find they both suddenly died of heart attacks, then they may start looking into the hitman husband.

But besides that detail, everything else about it was well-written and very engaging. I was excited to see what was going to happen next in the story.

5-stars.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 1 year ago

Haven't we read this before?

JBEdwardsJBEdwardsabout 1 year ago

This was going great until the end. I guess the hitman does not realize there are ways to end a marriage that don't include murder. Also, where did you read "How can you dissociate sex and love so easily. Everything I have read says that it's men that do that not women, that women need to have love to have good sex." I think that's clearly not true. Love helps, for sure, but it's not a requirement and never has been (in my opinion). Anyway, despite the lousy ending and the aforementioned attitude, I really did enjoy the story. The style reminds me just a bit of the Hitman series of books by Lawrence Block. Five stars from me.~~JB Edwards

So murder as revenge for cheating? My goodness, there are some pathetic little people liking this story.

That attitude my explain why they became cuckolded to begin with.....

Enjoyable story and I like that you developed the wife's character, that made it more interesting.

KarnevilKarnevilabout 1 year ago

I read the first half page and thought 'why the fuck am I looking at this?' It is after all just another overblown bragging fest about a violence obsessed, women hating knobend. We seem to get an awful lot of 'real men' demanding new categories for anything that doesn't fit into their pitiful misogynistic paradise, but maybe its these BTB cavemen that need a separate category. Perhaps then us more intelligent readers wouldn't have to put up with the killing, bloodshed and chest thumping posturing.

Again a repost from the same author without any reason for it. The story was shit then and it is now. Justifying to kill someone because they cheat? Thats low. Those people belong to the same category of scum who think its alright to beat their wife because they wear dresses in summer and somebody looked at their ankle. He had no inclination to stop being a psychopath and kill people just because he can and leave his wife for weeks to month. So why would he be so offended if she went out looking for someone to give her intimacy when he refused to do so because it was more important to end some lifes. He should have taken his own medicine and killed himself along with his wife. He had less reasons to be alive than her. I am also glad to be the reason that EdgeofSundown is here. Fucking juvenile incel shit.

AnotherChapterAnotherChapterabout 1 year ago

Stolen story? Well, in truth it wasn’t good enough to steal. An ugly story with nothing but gratuitous violence and a ‘plot’ that was as transparent as a window pane from the first paragraph. I try to make it a point to encourage writers on this site, but can’t help feeling that in this case it is a wasted effort.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 1 year ago

I don't like it when you just kill the bitch/bastard. It's so final and you don't get to probe the divorced angst that comes with divorcing people and it requires very little imagination. In this case, you end the story with her about to die and that's it - finito. Done. No this or that just nothing. Not a satisfactory ending, just like the entire story.

Marine Sniper/Assassin for hire: "You were fucking him for four months"

(also, a couple of inches down the page)

Marine Sniper/Assassin for hire: "How long was it going on?"

Masterful interrogation, I must say. Answering your own question before you ask them must confuse the hell out of the subject being interviewed.

Definitely not my cup of tea. The guy may never have cheated on her but he was a million times more likely to end up in hell as what he does for a living pales in comparison to he infidelity.

Regguy69Regguy69about 1 year ago

Beating the shit out of the Jody is one thing, killing for money is just evil, and killing his cold-hearted wife for revenge is just weakness. No likable characters here.

Pretty well written. Plot was solid, but the ending was a bit predictable. As fiction, it was a good read.

26thNC26thNCabout 1 year ago

That was a good one. I like this idea of a man who takes hit contracts against cheaters. I’m very happy with the fact that he took out his Marine buddy’s cheating wife, and too bad he didn’t find the disgraced colonel. I over his method of taking out his wife’s lover, and his confrontation and ending of her will be a LW classic. It’s a *5 as written, but it was easy to see what was coming when he married. She even managed to blame her cheating on him because due to his good loving, she needed it every day. It would have been a great twist if she had ended up being faithful.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 1 year ago

No quarter. no mercy. I feared he was going to forgive her, but thankfully no.

> "Ok, enjoy your dinner and your cheating," - Did he actually say that? She didn't react.

She had just said (lied) that she was watching a TV show about cheaters and that their fictional TV cheating got her hot for her husband (1). Main Characterski gave her the old double entendre to call out her lie, but she barely noticed half of an entendre with her attention on affair planning and hubby deceiving.

MightyHornyMightyHornyabout 1 year ago

A righteous ending, give the MC's passion & occupation, and the complete disrespect his wife has shown him throughout their entire relationship.

Still, you would think the guy would properly vetted Jules before proposing... which, I guess, proves, once again, that even men like him, who should definitely know better, can be turn into fools by love.

This tale should have gotten a proper epilogue or maybe some type of follow-up - I'm kinda curious as to what the hell our protagonist would be up to, now that he permanently drop the ol' ball-and-chain.

As it is, though... yep, that's some good BTB! Thanks for the share, author.

Sbrooks103x, tralander, I believe the line “ enjoy your dinner and cheating” was a little double meaning jab referring to the NetFlix show she was watching which is about a cheating wife. She didn’t react to his dig, because she had no clue she was caught.

I loved it. I don't usually rate this type of story with 5-stars, I like reconciliation usually but this one was an exception. If the story warrants a BTB ending, then so be it. Hitmen are human and have emotions like the rest of us, but one would think the quintessential trait most important to be good as a hitman is to be in control of those emotions and think before acting. Really good story. Thanks for sharing.

Murder...

As a response to cheating? Crimes of passion do happen, but this guy was a hired killer. No passion involved, just a psychopath. Bad, and people who like it are equally bad...and almost all trumpie conservatives methinks.

mattenwmattenwabout 1 year ago

Sorry, but if we're already using contract killers for cheaters, what's next? Your story is told entertainingly, but far beyond the goal. Murder is never a solution to problems!

AnonymousAnonymousabout 1 year ago

5 stars but the 1st page sort of telegraphed the ending so it wasn't a surprise. Now was it surprising how he killed them, no questions from the authoritites. At least you didn't send him to see Peter's wife a blessing there
