Then Noah arrived, this stranger from another world, and it was like she was caught under his spell. His reputation was one of perversity and malice, but they couldn't define him properly, define the depth she felt when she looked at him, spoke to him, and now when she touched him. He was wise, he was kind, and something about him put her at ease, making her want to lean her head against his shoulder and sleep the way he did now.

No matter what Elisandra did to distract herself or how she tried to focus on matters at hand, these feelings within her refused to fade. How strange that she had spent more time with him in the dream world than the real world, yet she still felt so close to him. She rolled Noah onto his back, keeping his head on her lap, and brushed back his hair.

"Such a handsome face," she murmured, wondering if he could hear her while the fire beside them crackled.

I wanted Noah to stay faithful to the Dark Elf during their trip. However I now want Noah to give the Queen an heir. How would a baby be received, half elf and human…

I know Valia will continue to fight against Noah's nihilism, to try to get him to understand that *she* matters here and now. I sense that she wants him as a lifelong husband (or at the very least she really wants to hear him say "I love you" and mean it), and could forgive his past sins if he expresses more empathetic intentions now. Could they ever potentially reproduce together? Is she fertile at 700 years old? Can humans and elves even have children together (half-elves) on this world?

I would counter Noah's argument by saying that every sentient life has value and should be respected at the level of the individual. Even if Noah meets copies of the same person in multiple timelines, each version of them deserves respect as a sovereign intelligent being (assuming they're innocent people and are not violating the rights of others) This philosophy underpinned the recent movie "Everything Everywhere All at Once", where the all-powerful daughter fell into nihilism and started killing people randomly, because why not? when there are infinite universes and infinite versions of everyone.

Every life matters, and our relationships with other people have significant meaning. This philosophical battle may be the toughest that Valia has ever fought, but perhaps she can convince Noah of this by the end, that they may enjoy bliss together for a long time in this life.

On another note, I'm starting to guess that Valon is the one creating these abominations and perhaps the plague as well, so finding him will resolve multiple plotlines. In addition to the physical fight that looms among him/Valia/Noah, I wonder about the philosophical battle that will occur. Has Valon's new perspective given him the same nihilistic outlook that Noah describes? Will Valon sway Noah into joining him in his murder spree because nothing really matters after all? Or will this be the crisis point that pushes Noah to recognize the value in life and why it's worth defending? I'm intrigued to see how you weave this tapestry.

How do you retain the position of advisor when your reasons for objection are so unreasonable? Lour should have been fired long ago.
