I like your approach to mind control. Instead of writing something cliche like, "I looked at the spoon and imagined it in my hand, and there it was, just as I had imagined it," you've addressed the idea of getting used to grasping the most basic concepts of something like telekinesis for someone new to it (or at least as I imagine it would be).

Nobody is born with perfect coordination and motor skills. It's only logical that something like this would be the same.
