Mikey is beet red and gives me a hard look. "What the fuck, Janessa?"
I ignore him.
"Close, but I mean do you sleep with women? Eat them out? Oral sex? Get your dick wet?"
Clarity registers in his eyes and he smiles broadly, "Oh, yes! That makes sense. Oh, wait--no." He blushes red and shrugs, biting his pretty bottom lip, his eyes darting to Mikey.
"That's too bad, papi. Want to give it a try?" I flick my eyebrows up and give him an obvious once-over and I can almost hear Mikey's blood pressure rise.
"Janessa," he snarls.
Luke laughs genuinely and then looks at me speculatively. "My mother does always tell me to try everything once."
"Luke!" Mikey exclaims. I grin.
"I am kidding, my love. We are joking. Come here," Luke laughs and I watch with raised eyebrows Mikey do as he's told. He gives me a crabby look and curls into this dude's side.
Lukas dusts kisses along Mikey's cheek which seems to more or less mollify him.
"Damn. Y'all are serious?" I drop my bag on the coffee table and flop onto the armchair. "He's such a fuckboy though."
"Fuckboy mitt," he says with a smirk in his breathy accent.
I look at Mikey for an explanation, and he grumbles, "It means 'my fuckboy'."
Luke winks. I lose my shit laughing.
"Shut up," says he who can dish but not take. "Why are you here?"
My face falls. My eyes water. Mikey sits up, abruptly. "Bitch, is you crying?"
"No," I growl.
Luke has a very sympathetic look on his face and I hug my knees, not meeting his gaze.
"First, I have to give you some context," I sigh. "I've been dating a couple."
I hold up a hand to stop Mikey who looks like he's about to explode with questions.
"Their names are Liam and Mara," I begin.

Anonymousabout 1 year agoI'm rereading this story, and I have to say, Janessa is my favorite character. Not just because she's bi, but she's the type of fucked up that I'd be had I the courage and fortitude to chase all of my teeter-tottering high af fantasies. I love how she knows her boundaries and doesn't give a damn unless it's herself and those she truly loves. She's also pretty on point about dishing out the best but ALSO THE ABSOLUTE WORST of herself only to those she truly loves. I love that about her. You made a stunning character. Also, I'm rooting for RxVxJ as endgame... with the sleight-of-hand exception that is Janessa. What's rarer than a unicorn? A motherfucking grown-ass unicorn. I love this series, I have no doubt they'll all mature well under your writing, their character arcs are stellar so far.

Kjokjoalmost 2 years agoFirst off, let me say, I love your stories. Ace of hearts and the first two chapters of v is for Veronica are amazing. However, this part has confused me. I had to go back and read chapter two again to see if I had missed a clue as to where chapter three was headed. Completely get the preface to this chapter that you’ve had characters coming out of your ears and it’s been difficult to figure out what to keep and what to toss; this chapter does feel very removed from the first two parts though, thus the confusion. Looking forward to seeing where this goes! Just hope that Vivi and Rakeem are back for chapter four.
