Just plain awful.

1/5

Can l say the current scores tell the story, better than anyone else.

The story is heading south.

IMHO you ought to cut some slack for Vivian’s behavior. Yes of course she knows she’s doing wrong as after all adultery is one of the prohibitions listed in the Ten Commandments of the Jewish and Christian faith. However, people commit adultery for various reasons. Even her husband recognized he had a part to play when he displayed no excitement when Vivian became pregnant. He doted on his son of his previous marriage but just tolerated the presence of Maia, Vivian’s daughter of her previous marriage. It is telling that Eino had refused to legally adopt Maia after they were married. So Vivian knew she wouldn’t receive from him the empathy she needed for the devastating news of her miscarriage and resultant infertility. Hence the resorting to the heavy drinking and the incautious threesome after she was released from the hospital.

Her dalliance with Jed Baxter was understandable especially in light of her mistaken assumption that he would never consider leaving his wife for her. And yes she is a swinger and a member of a sex club in Texas, and she does view it as extramarital fun that ought not to have any real impact on her marriage.

Finally, it should be pointed out that Vivian Laaning is no thoughtless bimbo. She is a graduate of the law school of the University of Chicago which has been consistently ranked for many decades as one of the top five law schools in the United States. She had a position with one of the prestigious law firms in Chicago. Spoiler alert: in subsequent chapters you will find she becomes a successful cabinet minister in the Estonian government and subsequently the Estonian Ambassador to the United States. She also attends a state dinner at the White House. This is not to mention that she launched a c=very successful craft beer industry in Europe.

I daresay if one were to meet a woman with such a resume, one would not be concerned about her sexual proclivities.

I took to writing erotica for the reason that I would have sole control on how the story ends and what my characters will do. However I was surprised to see that some characters have a mind of their own and act accordingly beyond my original intentions. Case in point were Lind...
