It's not the end of the series, by the way -- there are two more books after this one, Cascade Fire and Crossings, with a third in development. Each is significantly different. Perhaps you might like the others better.

I often skip to the end to check that a series has an ending to avoid reading abandoned stories. It also protects against reading garbage stories like this.
