Wild Flower Ch. 17

The way Pablo felt at that time was really terrible. It was almost as if he was about to have a heart attack. His heart was hurting terribly and his head was pulsing. His blood pressure shot up and he held his chest as he gasped. He couldn't believe he had actually heard that. He knew his son was very much in trouble and he needed to save him. But he didn't know what to do. He slowly started walking from his house, trying to think clearly.

Marcus on the other hand was happy inside. He couldn't wait for the battle to begin between Pablo and Miguel. His work was done and he knew Christian was almost his. It was just a matter of time. He was following Pablo behind, hoping to hear what his plan was gonna be.

Suddenly, three men passed by and the conversation they were having caught Pablo's attention.

"Yeah, I saw him at the construction site." One of the men said, taking a deep sigh. "La don has just arrived and I saw his car."

"I wonder when La don will leave us alone." Another said angrily. "He has caused us nothing but pain."

The men continued talking and passed by. Pablo stopped and just looked the direction towards the construction site. He was filled with nothing but rage. He groaned and started running as fast as he could towards the site.

"Pablo!" Marcus quavered, shouting at the top of his voice. He got a little scared when he saw Pablo running. "What are you doing, Pablo? Don't go and confront Miguel. It could be dangerous."

He just stood there and watched as Pablo went without even running after him.

"Oh my God!" Carter gasped when he heard everything. "He is gonna go to La don at the construction site."

Carter had just been coming to say his goodbyes to Pablo and Ruth but with what he saw, he somehow knew he had to do something. He quickly turned back and started running to Christian's house to call him. He had a feeling that he needed to call Christian.

"Here!" Miguel handed over the briefcase which contained money to the muscular looking man in front of him. He was tall and he had cowboy boots on. "That's one million dollars and it's all for you."

"But..."

"I know what you are going to say?" He folded his arms on his chest. "But I have added a little extra for a job well done for the information you've been providing me for the last three years."

"Thank you so much, boss." Peter smiled brightly, taking a deep breath. "It's been really nice working for you."

"Yeah," Miguel said with a sigh. "That money is surely a lot and I am sure it will do wonders for you. But I don't think I need your services anymore. Why don't you start your life somewhere and please," He warned, pointing at him. "Don't live a life of crime."

"Thank you, boss."

Meanwhile, Pablo arrived at the construction site and he went to the third floor, which was just two floors below where Miguel was. But he didn't see him. He looked around and turned to check the other floors but when he turned, he got the surprise of his life when he saw someone else, someone other than Miguel. It was his lawyer and he had an evil grin on his face.

"You!" He furiously moved towards him. "Where is that boss of yours?"

Brandon moved closer to Pablo, giving him an evil grin. They were both near the edge of the building.

"I knew Marcus wouldn't fail me." Brandon chuckled sinisterly, not losing that evil grin.

"What?" Pablo slightly yelled. "What are you talking about?"

"You are too foolish old man." Brandon laughed manically, chirping at the old man. "You were tricked into coming here and..."

"It was you?" He gasped, shaking his head. "Marcus lied to me? I am gonna..."

"You are not going anywhere, old man." Brandon furiously gripped his arm. "You are staying here with me."

Pablo now realized what had happened. Marcus had betrayed him. The way Brandon was holding his arm was too much on his old bones. It hurt like hell.

"Get your hands off me."

Pablo started struggling to get loose, trying to move away from Brandon. But Brandon was just too strong for him. He was pushing him behind and no matter what he did, Brandon was just too strong. Brandon knew what he was doing and he was gonna do it perfectly.

Meanwhile, Christian was running as fast as his legs could carry him. He was almost at the construction site and his heart was pounding deep in his chest. He was breathing harshly and he was scared. What carter had told him sounded pretty scary and he was hoping to reach his father and talk him out of what he was thinking of doing. Carter was right behind him.

It wasn't long before Christian reached the construction. When he moved his eyes forward to the tall building, he paused and stood still. His heart started pounding deep in his chest as his breaths became harsh. His body trembled... His eyes widened... his mouth gaped and he felt as if poison was moving in his body. He got cold and before he realized it... tears were going down his face. He got so scared that he trembled.

He had come to the construction site only to find his father falling. Pablo fell to the ground with the thud.

Chris' eyes widened as he started running to his father. "No!" He cried at the top of his voice. "Father..."

Christian ran to his father and found him lying on the ground. He had hit his head really badly and he was bleeding terribly. He was already gone. Seeing him lying lifeless on the ground, Christian felt as if his life had just come to an end. He quickly leaned down and held his father.

"No!" He cried at the top of his voice. "Father, please what happened to you?" He was crying at the top of his voice. "Who did this to you?"

Meanwhile, Miguel was staring at Peter who was leaving when suddenly they both heard someone shouting. Miguel wondered what was going because there was no one else at the construction site. He was really hoping that everything was alright.

Taking a deep breath, Miguel rushed to the edge of the building to see what happened. He got scared when he saw Christian holding his father desperately. Miguel's heart started racing and tears built in his eyes. He couldn't believe what he was seeing and he was actually scared. His breaths came out harshly.

Christian held his father tightly and cried. He slowly moved his face up to see what had made his father fall. But when he looked up, he couldn't believe his eyes. Miguel was standing at the edge building where his father had just fallen. His eyes widened and his pain increased. He couldn't stop staring as the pain increased.

Miguel shook his head as a tear went down his cheeks. He couldn't still believe he was seeing Pablo hurt. Poor thing, everything was pointing to him.

Could this be it for La don?

Honestly this chapter was really wonderful at first but the truth is the last parts got me really sad. These people are really wicked. I mean Brandon, Marcus, Felix even Carter. But it's alright because I am sure they are soon going to join their ancestors. And carter... oh my God, I might be the writer but Carter is really annoying me right now. But I have a feeling this experience might make Miguel even worse.
