Amy laughed at Ryan. They were in his kitchen eating Chinese. She picked up her phone when it began to ring. The smile left her face. She didn't answer it.
"Boyfriend?" he asked, watching her.
"Lover."
"Ah." His phone began to ring.
"Girlfriend?"
"Yep."

"So, what's he like?" Thi asked as she set a plate of toast on the table.
"Very nice," Beth answered. She received a round of groans. "No, really. We went to Jesse's apartment and talked and danced."
"And had hot, sweaty sex," Nicki added.
"That too. The concert was great."
"How many times?" Amy asked.
"Twelve."
Alyssa choked. "In one day?"
"No, goose. Over the whole weekend. Twelve times in one day. Seriously." Beth got up from the table. "I'd be bow-legged." She grabbed her bag and gave a wave as she left.
"So where were you this weekend?" Alyssa asked Amy.
"With a guy."
"Who?"
"None of your business." She stood and left the kitchen.
"Do you know?" She looked at Nicki and Thi. Thi shook her head.
"She took her camera bag," Nicki said. "We'll just have to wait until she develops them."
