It seems likely that Melissa has set up Amy to be found this way to prove to Michael that he is making a mistake forsaking her for Amy. However, this is just conjecture, so I look forward to the next chapter. It is a bit unclear why Amy would be in Michael's apt and bed, since he clearly was not expecting her to be there?

regarding the last comment about being set up she still didn't have to take the bait unless she thought she wouldn't get caught.
