As it happened Mari did end up pregnant with his pups and Dan was sort of torn. He had to admit that he had greatly enjoyed making love to Mari and would not complain if she asked him again. Since that night they hadn't slept with each other, well not sexually, and they had actually sort of started alternating between his bed and hers since it didn't really seem to matter what bed they were, in some of the cubs would find them and snuggle up to them. They had quietly walked into the room after the pups were all asleep yet by the time they woke up the bed was almost groaning with pups piled around them. Dan usually awoke and tickled them but it was halfhearted in a way since he really did appreciate their concern for him. With everything else it almost seemed even more pups were spending time in bed with them and oddly enough the month after Mari conceived they were spending more time with her than him. That was amusing since the pups seemed to know that she was pregnant and were going out of their way to lightly touch or pat her belly and smile.

In a way it was sort of nice since he could get up and go to the bathroom without dislodging any pups but he almost felt abandoned. It was like they knew something he didn't... Right about then Mari woke up and managed to nail him in the stomach as she rolled out of bed and stumbled toward the bathroom and promptly tossed up what remained in her stomach from dinner.

Dan managed not to laugh and followed her to the bathroom. He held her hair till she was done and offered her a damp washcloth and some water to clean her mouth out. "Sorry little one, if I could do that for you I would." His voice was soft and gentle but that didn't help.

"You caused this, why can't you be the pregnant one." Mari growled at him as she stalked out of the bathroom before running back in and tossing what was left of her cookies again. "Lords, why did I ever think about having cubs?" One more retch and she was done for the moment.

Dan was smart enough not to say anything since he had dealt with his former mate with both of her pregnancies. Once she was cleaned up, they headed down to breakfast to find out what also might cause her to have issues...

He gave her another hug and urged her from the room.
