The writing's quite good and it's an interesting situation. True, there's not as much development of the character's personalities yet, but with good descriptive ability the author is overcoming that lack.

The story is taking place from the watcher'd point of view, which is a good reminder to everyone to keep those shades pulled down, or at least keep the action away from outside views.
