He just doesn't react to how he thinks. He thinks all tough, then just doesn't respond physically. A guy like this wouldn't have just signed the contract, but even if he had he would talk back, fight back, destroy things. Like when Linda and Mindy tried to drag him around, he's a man and he's stronger by body mass than them, he would have stood up when she tried to get over him with the broken chair in the office, he would have looked for scissors to snip off the finger nails and for something to break the cage. In life, nothing goes perfectly, but in this author's stories, they always do. This guy could give a shit whether he has a contract, when he's being emasculated, he just wants that shit off and out of there. I with the story reflected the natural physical reaction of the character portrayed.
