Meanwhile, MILF has an incentive to break the young couple apart (or even to keep Tara from bringing him home) - to keep Tom from finding out she’s been bonking the Kid.

You write very well, draw your readers in ok but did NOT mask the twist well enough! To anyone who is sad enough to have already read far too much erotica, the "surprise" ending was anything but!

Although nothing like AS common as "Hubby-arriving-home-unexpectedly-catches-wife-copulating" there are only a limited number of variations on any given theme, including the Mrs. Robinson genre, and only so many ways to create a credible alarming potential of an impending catastrophic climatic implosion event!

I am NOT saying you shouldn't write one! But keeping the surprise is paramount, That is sometimes where a Red-Herring can help! Just like a Conjurer's distraction! Look at murder-mystery writers like Agatha Christie (Miss Marple, Poirót) Sir Arthur Connan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes), even NCIS! Just a hint to all aspiring authors perhaps?
