It was nice to see the main protagonist getting some of the cake back, and finally enjoying the pleasure of cheating.

The last sort of page and a half felt a bit rushed. There are quite a few sentences that have words missed out and so on. You might want to edit it those and resubmit.

All in all you're a very competent writer. When's the novel coming out? ;)
