James watched while his kids left the house. His gaze was still filled with hate and anger.

Karen set her burdens down before taking the final step toward James. "I'll be back tomorrow or the day after. I'm just making sure Nicole's going to be okay."

James was about to say a scathing comment, but Ryan stepping back into the house, made him hold his tongue.

"C'mon, Mom. Time to go."

Karen turned without another glance at her husband.

Once Karen had collected her things and left the house, Ryan closed half the distance to his father. "Remember what I said. Not one bad word. Whatever you say or do, I will do to you immeasurably worse."

With that, they were gone.

Ryan drove them to the local Comfort Suite. It didn't take long to have an apartment booked for a few nights, and be in their room.

As Ryan set his bags down, Nicole stepped into his arms and wrapped hers around him. "Thank you, Ryan."

He hugged her back fiercely. "You're welcome. Why don't you go and give Megan a call? Make sure she's alright. If she wants she can spend the night too."

Nicole's eyes misted again. With a smile, she nodded and claimed one of the rooms as her own.

Once Ryan claimed one of the other rooms, he went back out into the common room and sat on the couch. It wasn't long before Karen joined him.

Glancing over at his mother he asked, "Why have you stayed with him all these years?"

Karen sighed. "He was a good man once. And he's been a good provider. He's always made sure that we've had everything we needed. He even paid for most of Nicky's university."

Ryan shook his head. He couldn't dispute his mother's statements. "He's also abused all of us for years."

She glanced away but nodded.

Ryan hesitated for a moment, but then said, "Nicole and I are going to get a place together. Come with us."

Karen's head snapped up to look at him. "What? I can't do that?"

Ryan sighed but didn't push the issue. He was uncertain what Nicole would say about his offer to house their mother as well.

Sometime later, Karen went to check on Nicole. She was in the room for a few minutes, before coming back out. "She just got off the phone with Megan. Megan will be by tomorrow. Nicky's going to bed though. I think I'm going to do the same."

Ryan nodded. "That sounds like a plan."

After a quick shower, finally able to wash the stink of the day off him, Ryan climbed into his bed. Despite the comfortable bed, he had trouble falling asleep. He was almost to the point of being asleep when he heard the door to his room open. Glancing at the door, he saw a woman silhouetted against the moonlight streaming into the common room of the suite. He knew at once that it was Nicole, based on her diminutive size.

She climbed under the covers beside him, and he just wrapped his arms around her. She snuggled in.

Ryan could feel his sister's tears on his chest.

"Do you hate me?" Nicole's soft voice asked.

He tightened his arms around his sister. "Never."

"Even with what dad caught me doing?"

"Nicky, I love you no matter what. If you wanted to fuck a three-armed midget spinning a basketball, I wouldn't care."

He received his desired effect when she burst out laughing. He gave her an appreciative squeeze. "Nicky, if you want to be with Megan or anyone else, I will support you. My love is not conditional."

She sobbed again. Tilting her head back and wrapping an arm around his neck, she pulled him in. She gave him a happy, lingering kiss with her hot lips, right on the mouth. The kiss wasn't romantic, or passionate, but it did convey her love and gratitude toward Ryan.

After a few minutes, Ryan asked, "Should we be including Megan in our plans to get a place?"

Nicole's head snapped up again. She peered into his eyes, despite the darkness. "You'd do that?"

He chuckled, "I'd do what?"

"You'd invite Megan to move in with us?"

Ryan rubbed her back while he answered, "If it would make you happy, I'd do anything. You're my sister. It's my job to make sure you're safe and happy."

Nicole made a contented sound that almost sounded like a purr, as she leaned in close to him again, nuzzling close to his chest. "I think Megan would like that."

Nicole stayed in Ryan's arms through the night, drawing comfort from the safe feeling they provided.

Chapter 3

"Nicky? Nicole? Nicole! Ryan, she's gone!" Karen yelled out from the common room, a moment before the door to his room burst open.

Ryan was shocked awake from their mother's worried outburst. As the sleep left him, he found himself in a similar situation to the morning before, only their mother had burst into the room, and was staring at them.

Ryan again pushed away from his sister, but she continued to shift back, snuggling close.

Nicole looked up at their mother, standing in the doorway. Karen was still breathing hard from her fright.

"I'm sorry I scared you, Mom. I just couldn't sleep last night. It felt like dad was going to come in and-- It took Ryan to be able to relax enough to sleep."

Karen's face softened, and she walked into the room. Because Ryan shifted away, and Nicole followed, there was room on the bed. Karen climbed onto the bed, sandwiching Nicole in the middle. She wrapped her arms around her daughter, hugging her tightly.

Karen began to cry.

Ryan didn't like the fact that his mom was crying or the fact that, at least in part, Nicky couldn't sleep until she was in his bed.

Despite still having his morning wood, Ryan reached around both women, and hugged them, crushing them to him.

Nicole enjoyed the love she felt from both her mother and brother. Though her inclinations were sapphic in nature, feeling her brother's hardness pressing into her backside sent a certain thrill through her.

When Ryan released his hold on the women, they all climbed out of bed; Ryan doing his best to hide his tented boxers.

Little did he know his efforts were ineffectual. Karen noticed his prominence and blushed. She felt confused, wondering why her son would have an erection when he was in bed with his sister.

Now that they were out of bed it didn't take long for them to get dressed and ready for the day. As they were discussing what to do about breakfast, there was a knock at their hotel room door. They all shared a glance before Ryan went to open the door.

Half expecting to see his father, Ryan let out a breath he didn't know he was holding when he was greeted by a different sight. Standing in the doorway was a pixie of a woman, smaller, and fairer than his sister. She had long blond hair, and her eyes were violet, caused by ocular albinism.

Smiling, Ryan stepped back motioning her in. "Morning, Megan. Glad you're here. We were just talking about what to do for breakfast."

Before Megan could reply, Nicole let out a shriek, "Megan!" Nicole ran forward and slammed into her girlfriend. The two young women stumbled out into the hall.

Megan and Nicole held each other crying in the hall. Ryan stepped out with them and guided them into the suite.

"I'm so, so, sorry, Nicky," Megan sobbed into her friend's shoulder.

Nicole was so overcome with emotion that she couldn't speak. In response, she was shaking her head emphatically.

Ryan and Karen watched from the couch as the younger women comforted each other.

A little later, when Nicole was able to speak again and the tears had settled, Ryan stood, stepping forward and placing a hand on their shoulders. He smiled at his sister, before turning his gaze on the newcomer. "Megan, I'm glad you're okay. Knowing my father, it couldn't have been easy to go through that yesterday."

Megan's eyes filled up again, and she latched onto Ryan. "Thank you, Ryan! Nicole told me what happened after I left. Thank you for saving her!"

Ryan gave her a firm squeeze. "I would have done the same for you. How was it when you got home?"

Megan shook her head. "Not now."

With a final squeeze, he released her, and they pulled apart.

Ryan ordered room service for breakfast. When it arrived, they brought it to the table and ate from the dishes family style.

Megan glanced around the table. "So, what's happening now?"

Karen's fork stilled, and she sat back awaiting the response from her children as much as Megan was.

Ryan glanced at his sister, who was studiously ignoring his gaze. Clearing his throat, he replied to Megan, "I'm not sure if you knew but Erin and I had a plan. Once I got my big contract, ensuring my income, we were going to get a place together. I planned on asking her to marry me."

Megan and Karen looked at him impassively. They both knew his plans with his girlfriend.

Ryan continued, "Two days ago, I got my contract. I went over to Erin's house to tell her, and found her cheating on me."

Nicole's eyes looked sad, and both Megan's and Karen's went wide in surprise. Both held the original opinion that Nicole had, thinking that Ryan and Erin's relationship had been good.

"The plan to move out only worked with both Erin and I. As you know the cost of living is ridiculous around here." Ryan looked at his sister. "Both Nicky and I wanted out of the house because of our father. She offered to get a place with me. What happened last night forced the issue a little, but I for one won't be going back."

Karen's eyes were sad, but she couldn't blame her children for not wanting to go back to her home.

Ryan continued, "Nicky and I are going to start looking for a place to live. We'll start if not today, then tomorrow. We can't stay in the hotel forever." He paused, and Nicole looked up. The siblings shared a look, and she smiled at him, giving a slight nod. "Megan, we were wondering if you would like to move in with us? I imagine you would be there a lot of the time anyway."

Megan's eyes went wide, as she looked at her girlfriend. Realizing what Ryan was really asking, tears filled her eyes. Smiling, she turned to Ryan and nodded. "Thank you."

Ryan stood and came around the table and hugged the tiny, fair woman. "Megan, you have been Nicky's best friend since forever, and Nicky isn't the only one who loves you."

With those words, the three young adults began planning what they wanted to look for in a place to live.

Karen looked at the three younger people. Though she didn't understand Megan or Nicole's feelings, she could see that they were happy together. She also knew that Ryan would look after them. She loved her kids and knew that what they were planning was right.

Karen knew she needed to reevaluate her relationship with her husband, but that wasn't something she was prepared to do at that moment.

While the kids talked about what kind of place to look for, Karen went back to her bedroom and packed up her things.

Stepping out of the room when she was done she cleared her throat to get their attention. When the three stilled, she smiled at them. "I'm heading home. You're making the right choice." She looked at Megan, then Nicole, "Your father won't understand, and may actively oppose you. Ryan will protect you though."

She stepped forward, and hugged the two girls, before hugging Ryan. She whispered in his ear, "Please, please take care of them. And yourself."

Stepping back, Karen picked up her luggage. She gave them another smile. "I love you all, no matter what. Be sure you don't forget about me." After a moment she added, "And your father too."

They all said their final goodbyes, and Karen headed for the door to the suite.

Ryan followed her to the elevator. "Mom, if you need anything, don't hesitate to call. We need you too, you know."

Karen smiled up at her son, with a tear in her eye. She reached up with her free hand and cupped his cheek. "Love you."

"Love you too, Mom."

Stepping back into the suite, Ryan found the girls sitting on the couch. He expected them to be cuddled up like they normally were, instead, Megan was sitting ramrod straight, and there was a slight space between the two.

Ryan guessed, based on Nicole's body language, that she wanted to close that distance between them.

"What's up?" Ryan asked, taking a seat in a chair, turning it to face them slightly.

Megan cleared her throat and turned her violet gaze on Ryan. "I-- I need to ask a favour of both of you. It isn't fair to either of you, and I have no right to ask, but I have to."

"What is it, Sweety?" Nicole asked.

At the same time, Ryan said, "Just ask."

Megan glanced between the siblings and heaved a deep sigh. "Ryan, would you-- Gawd this is hard-- would you be my fake boyfriend?"

Ryan was shocked, not expecting that request at all.

Nicole was expecting something big, but not that. Her eyes went wide showing her surprise.

Megan rushed on, "My parents have become suspicious. They'd stop paying for school and disown me if they found out." She turned to Nicole and took her hand, "I'm not ashamed, but you know I couldn't afford to go to school on my own."

Nicole had tears in her eyes and nodded her agreement.

Looking across at Ryan again Megan said, "I know it's not fair for you either. You wouldn't be able to date or find someone or--"

Ryan raised his hand, cutting off her fast-paced explanations and apologies. He studied Megan's face, peering deeply into her eyes for a moment. Looking at his sister Ryan asked, "Would you be okay with that?"

Nicole nodded.

Ryan shook his head and glanced between them. "Just to be clear, that would mean being seen in public with Megan. Going on dates. Kissing, hugging, etc. If you want to fool your parents, then you would have to take me there, to meet them.

"Though the relationship might be false, to the world it would have to be real. We could all do some things together--" He looked at his sister again, "--I would be hugging, and kissing your girlfriend in front of you." Afterwards, you would be able to come home and do whatever it is you do. I don't want jealousy to come into this. So, I ask again, Nicole, would you be okay with that?"

Nicole looked unsure, but shared a look with Megan and nodded again.

"How about you Megan? Would you be able to act like my girlfriend in public? Would you be able to stick to the ruse?"

Megan turned away from Nicole and looked again at Ryan, "Men are not my first choice, but yes, I can do my part."

Ryan nodded, "Good. Then yes, Megan I'll be your pretend boyfriend."

Nicole looked at her brother, "You'd be okay with it? Not getting any?"

Ryan laughed. "I'm sure I'll survive. I don't plan on becoming celibate, but I love both of you and am willing to do my part to help you both out."

Megan lunged across the hotel living room and plopped down on Ryan's lap, hugging him tightly. He returned her hug and looked across at his sister.

Nicole smiled at her girlfriend's reaction, and mouthed, "Thank you," to him.

Chapter 4

They spent the rest of Saturday at the hotel and spoke about what they wanted in a place to live. It didn't take long for them to figure out the basics. Three bedrooms, close to the university, enough parking, and a good part of town.

Unless they were able to find and sign papers that weekend, Ryan knew he would have to leave the majority of the searching to the girls. Now that he had his new contract until he was able to find some staff and get them trained, he would still be working long hours each day. The difference now was that he would have the guaranteed income to be able to support them.

While they ate lunch Megan timidly said, "Ryan, would it be okay if I told my parents about you tonight? We normally have a family dinner on Sundays. I could introduce you to them then."

Ryan sat back in his chair. All of a sudden, he felt nervous. Despite his nerves, he nodded. "Sure. It doesn't make much sense to be your beard if we don't meet the parents."

Both Megan and Nicole laughed at his joke.

Ryan smiled hearing his girls laughing.

Though he didn't realize it yet, Ryan had already started thinking that Nicole and Megan were his. Not in a possessive sense, but in that he was the one responsible for them, and he would be damned if someone would hurt his girls.

After they finished eating, Megan went to call her parents, while Nicole and Ryan surfed the net looking for apartments. Somewhat surprisingly they found several apartments meeting their desired specifications.

When Megan rejoined them, they took some virtual tours and set up appointments to see the apartments later in the week.

***

"So what time do we need to be at your parent's place tomorrow?" Ryan asked as they sat watching a movie on the TV.

"Um, around four-thirty. We typically eat for five," Megan replied from the couch. Nicole was on one end of the couch and Megan was snuggled up to her.

Ryan nodded and turned back to the screen.

After a moment, he heard a whispered conversation between the girls. He glanced over, and his sister had her mouth was close to Megan's ear; Megan was shaking her head. He couldn't hear what was being said, but it wasn't hard to see that Nicole was trying to convince Megan of something.

Not wanting to get any more involved with his sister's relationship than absolutely necessary, he turned back to the TV.

A moment later, however, the screen froze.

Nicole cleared her throat, getting his attention. She was holding the remote. As he took in the scene he noticed Megan blushing furiously.

"Um, Ryan, could you come over and sit beside Megan please?" Nicole asked.

Confused by her request he replied with, "Why?"

Nicky rolled her eyes. "Because Megan and you need to get used to each other. If you kiss for the first time at her parents I'll guarantee it they won't believe you're dating."

"Ah," he said, moving where she asked him to go. "That's a valid point."

He sat on the couch opposite his sister. Megan glanced at him, then her blush deepened further before she buried her face into Nicole's shoulder. Her breathing was rapid and shallow.

"I was wrong. I can't do it," Megan whimpered.

Nicole reached up and stroked Megan's pale blonde hair. "Shh, of course, you can. You've hugged him before. Start with that."

Tentatively Megan peeked out and caught Ryan looking at her with a slight smile.

Watching this unfold Ryan couldn't help but have warm feelings. He simply wanted to protect his girls, yet he couldn't help but notice how cute Megan looked while blushing. He simply held his hands out in an open invitation.

Reluctantly, Megan traded siblings. She left the copper-haired beauty, which was all soft curves, and moved to the towering man of hard wiry muscle. She wrapped her arms around him, and he hugged her.

She moved around a little to get comfortable. Then they sat. Nicole started the movie again, and they continued to watch.

He tried to keep his attention on the movie but feeling the softness of the diminutive woman pressed tightly against his side, he was distracted. It hadn't been long since he left Erin, but it had been a while since they had satisfying relations. Feeling Megan against him brought forth feelings that he shouldn't be having for his sister's girlfriend; fake boyfriend or not.

Nicole typed on her phone. When she finished, she caught Ryan's attention and held the phone up so he could read it without alerting Megan.

Ryan read the message: rub her arms, and body like you would a girlfriend. Kiss her. She needs to get used to feeling you.

He nodded.

Slowly, he started rubbing her arms. Megan stiffened right up, but he kept going. After a time she began to relax again.

Continuing with his sister's suggestions, he leaned down and kissed the top of her head.

Again she went rigid.

He squeezed her. "Megan, relax. I won't hurt you, and this won't work if you freeze up like that every time. I know I'm not attractive to you, but is it so bad?"
