If something is common, accepted practice, especially when there's a practical reason for it, people raised with it in their culture won't be embarrassed by it since it's the norm. In the same way modern women aren't too fussed by people seeing their legs or shoulders or whatever, women in this story should be completely unfazed by nudity.

I'm unsure what the previous comment is supposed to mean exactly, but it was explained earlier that in this town, nudity isn't exactly a "common, accepted practice".

I could empathize with Sophia. I think many of us like the idea of nudity but are also awkward about it worrying what will others think.
