Making Zach into a loser is making this story boring. How do you make a story with a guy banging a dozen women boring? Make him so terribly passive and weak that he'd have to grow massively to become a Mary Sue. He's such a loser now, Colby looks smart.

Thank you for your interest in trolling me. This is an unusual harem story, in the sense the women have been in charge from the very beginning, as, very frankly, they would be. That makes it not a complete boy-child fantasy. Deal with it. Other than that, yeah, I don't know what to say. Zach's not an asshole. He's the kind of caring guy a lot of women would like. Apparently, not like you. I will admit he's a bit overly other-oriented, but a lot of folks in medicine and related professions are. That's just realism. It seems to be working for him. Plus, he's an astronaut. There's not a lot of drama in the astronaut corps. He's not very jealous. He wants people to grow, stay safe, and deal with their feelings. He tries to do the same himself, though he's failing to do this in some ways that are bound to catch up to him. He's extremely easygoing, as all astronauts are. It all fits the profile.

Gary Lockwood about the portrayal of astronauts in 2001 a Space Odyssey: "We were taken to task by the critics for being, you know, that sort of benign type characters, and I always resented the fact that they reviewed us that way, because if you're the type of person who's going to go for two years to Jupiter, you're not going to be Jim Carrey."
