In this story has happened an untold number of times in our global history and if scientists are correct about the number of habitable planets, the probabilities are endless. When a stronger, 'more advanced civilization' encounters a weaker, 'less advanced civilization' we can bet the farm who will be the victors. So much culture, history and knowledge have been lost do to among other reasons fear, and the need of those in power to create enemies so the common people stay focused away from the real enemies. It's all straight out of the Dictators Playbook, which is only slightly different than the Cheaters Handbook of LW's fame.
