Golden Buns

The screenshot, the one of him and his friends and girlfriend was gone replaced with the smiling, loving cuteness of the girls, Cole sat down staring at it he wondered how they figured this out but he felt tears swelling gripping his painful chest, that screenshot was a reminder of what they did and what he had become, a reminder to never forget the pain he felt of betrayed and how cruel this world is that there was no reason to give a damn about it and now replaced with them trying to make him happy.

The woman's words came crashing through his mind letting go of the past so he and they would get their wish...A true family, it was his unspoken wish and desires one he never brought to the surface he always cared for people because that was what he enjoyed, he was the caring protective one, Looking at the screenshot again he looked towards the window the snow stormed heavily against it.

They gave him nothing but kindness to someone that didn't deserve it he looked towards the door he pushed them out, his mind clear for the first time in ages something he must do no longer holding back, no longer denying it they care about him and he cared about them.

"I need to set things right no matter what," Cole said hard to himself know what he must do.

Quickly getting up and gently placing the laptop down and turning it off he grabbed his thick coat and ran out unlocking the door he took a step outside into the cold.

"HOLLY! ASHLEY! MOLLY?" he shouts doubted they could hear him.

Cole's blood turned cold when he heard howling in the distance he didn't know there were wolves in the area but was told there were and now this confirmed it...And they might have found his girls.

Rage builds inside him, he charged back in unlocking the basement he headed downstairs searching for something, light shined in his eye making him close it, turning he found the sharp edge of a hand axe used to cut down small trees it's been here since he got here and he never used it but remembered seeing it.

Heading straight over he grabbed it and the hostler attached it to his belt, the axe shinned in the low light coming from the cellar door it was sharp, he held on tightly placing it in the holster, rushing upstairs he didn't bother locking and headed out into the winter storm to find his girls, no matter the cost, no matter what he faced or what happened to him, he would make thing right.

Five small bunnies huddled in the small hole trying to rest but movement and angry screeching came at them, a badger has made this hole its nest and it didn't like the visitors, they panicked and ran out turn back to their normal forms the badger didn't pursue them and just wanted them out, they huddled together.

They were more resistant to the cold because of their magic and the beastkin blood, they now needed to find a new direction to go and hopefully find some food and rest properly, They started walking finding a berry bush they quickly discovered to be eatable, but they had a tough immune system so even if they were bad berry they would be fine.

Hungrily eating away at them they missed Cole's cooking it was so much better than what they could ever find expectantly cake they hope they could try cake again one day. Their ear twitched as they heard a familiar howling of a wolf, looking towards the sound they found a bluish grey wolf standing up a hill staring down at them.

The girl panicked and ran dropping the berry and sprinting off to find safety, This wolf was different it didn't directly chase them but more moved them to a certain direction they didn't want to confront the wolf so they just kept running each taking looked at each other ensuring they were together, more wolves showed up the bluish one seeming to command them, They continued running for their life but came to a small hill toppling down to the bottom they quickly got themselves up and found an unknown cave, quickly heading inside it seem to have a massive open area and a smaller cave nearby to the right the ran to the back wall huddling together shivering, breathing heavily they might have lost them they didn't know only they stayed together sitting down resting.

Cole continued to shout their names but found no response the storm had got worst he could barely see what was in front of him, but he continued he wouldn't let this storm kill him before he found his girls.

"SALLY! POLLY! WHERE ARE YOU!" he shouted.

He was getting cold his coat didn't serve much warmth, but he continued on.

Suddenly he saw something...More like someone, a dark figure was in his view looking towards it, he saw amber eye stare at him, he frowned reading his axe, this figure was tall with what looked like two furry triangles on its head with long hair but behind the figure were what he could describe as tails, nine of them to be precise all waving gently in the raging storm.

He stared down the figure but noticed it raised one arm it's left pointing towards something, he looked and strangely the storm seem to clear and he could see something in the distance something in the hillside through the forest.

Turning back he discovered the figure was gone, confused he turned back to where it was pointed finding the storm still clear like a path telling him to go he heard another howling in the distance, Cole toughed up and ran towards what he saw.

"Don't worry girls," he said running, axe tightly in his hand, "Master's coming."

Back in the cave, the girls used it as refuge the only light was coming from outside but it lit the whole cave up, a shadow covered the entrance floor, they looked in horror as the bluish wolf from before standing this it was a trap to lure them to a place they couldn't run.

It howled marking their demise wolfs started flowing into the empty cave six to be certain with the bluish one in the middle forming a cone, they growled and licked their lips as they slowly stalked closer, was this their end from all they been through this was how they ended, they hugged each other tightly waiting for the inevitable.

"HEY!" came a loud voice from the entrance.

Everyone, even the wolves looked towards the sound, the girls could not believe their eye as a man stood there they knew who it was the moment he appeared.

"COLE!" they cried.

He saw the wolves stalking the girls, his girls! Anger, rage built inside him he ran fast with a raised axe quickly swiping down at the bluish grey one but it was quick jumping to the side, he swung it the other wolves moving back toward the bluish one.

He back up blocking them from the bunny girls becoming a barrier, any that try coming close he swings an axe at them making them leap back, Cole glanced back seeing tears in their eyes, their master had come for them but why? After he shouted at them and set them away.

"Are you all alright?" he said to the girls, still keeping his eyes towards the beasts.

"W-We're fine Cole but they are you here!?" Ashley shouted.

"To find you all, I shouldn't have sent you away I was too stubborn, too blinded by my self-pity to see what you girls were trying to do...So I'm here to set thing right," Cole said readying up.

The wolves back away, but they looked like they weren't going to back and run away there stayed a cone with the blue one in the middle, it looked like an area the middle was clear he stayed close to the girls.

One wolf moved forward almost challenging him, he accepted it and moved forward, the wolf quickly sprinted and leap at him, Cole instinctively covered his face blocking it with his arm the jaw of the wolf bite hard around his arm he growled in pain as it bites hard.

Cole raised his axe bringing it down upon the beast the blade turned crimson as he strikes it's neck again in anger, the wolf released its grip and stumbled back he kicked it in the head with his hard boots making blood pouring from near its head it stubbled backward dizzy then falling to the ground.

Cole griped his arm in pain as the wolves seem surprised by his actions, he had no idea if he had just caused a war between him and this pack, but he didn't care he got up and was ready for who came next.

Two wolves grabbed the body and pull away, replaced with two more, Cole grumbled facing two at once now, one came running trying to leap at him, but he saw it coming and moved at the way, to his right, he saw the other wolf moving towards him.

He raised his small axe ready to slash it he had strength and power and a damn weapon against them, but he wishes he had something more than an old hand axe to fight them, the slash hit the wolf in the air as it fell knocking it off balances.

He raised the axe ready for a finishing blow but then the wolf from before jump up to his back and bit hard into his shoulder, he cried in pain but the distressed sounds of the girl cleared his mind from the pain.

He used his left hand to grip the wolf's fur pulling it over him and slamming it down on top of the other still on the ground trying to get up, his shoulder bleeding, but he raised the axe again delivered two quick and deadly finishing blows on both wolfs.

He moved toward his girl and turned back breathing heavily ready to continue fighting, again the other wolf seems surprised including the bluish one, two wolves grabbed the bodies and moved them out.

Those wolves returned now three moving towards him, the pain was getting to him he was tired he took a glance back at the girl their fear covered faces was all he need brimming with rage and determination he pushed through both and got ready.

They came at once fast and hard, his shoulder charged them knocking one off balance but the other two moved both leaping at the same time Cole could do nothing as both their mouth grabbed his arms holding him on either side.

They were pulling him from both sides growling at him as their teeth dug into his skin, he noticed the middle on getting up ready for the kill, the mixture of pain and anger filled him with adrenaline as his life was in danger and use his strength to pull his left arm away from the jaw of the wolf.

Once free he raised his fist bringing it down upon the snout of the wolf holding his right, it quickly left go, no free the middle wolf still charged, he swings his axe again the blade hitting the wolf's face sending it flying back.

It fell to the floor with a thud the two wolves to his side back off in fear as he looks monstrous in their eyes, he saw movement and the blue one charged towards him, he raised his clenched fist to the side, it leaped at him, and he hit it in the face with his backhand.

Falling to the floor Cole run up the beast and gripped its neck, it stared at him as he stared at it, he raised his axe ready for a final blow, Cole looked into the eyes of the beast and saw... Acceptance.

Suddenly a loud howl could be heard throughout the whole cave making everything freeze, Cole grip on the wolf softened, at that moment it moved biting his wrist escaping his grasp, Cole saw it running toward the entrance.

Cole moved to the middle both him and the girls saw a large brown wolf it was the biggest thing he ever has seen, It stared him down a spike of fear sent a chill down his spine as it just looked at him.

He realized then and there that this was the alpha of the pack, not the bluish one, Cole moved towards the girls as the great wolf watched him it was clear he was protecting the bunny girls the beast saw it too.

Blood covered his arm, hands, and shoulder he watches as smaller wolves came pouring in becoming a cone towards him growling at him stalking towards him, he stayed firm.

The big wolf barked and all the others listened and they...Started moving back, Cole tilted his head as they retreated and made a path for the brown wolf it was clear at that moment he was to fight their strongest he only had to beat this dumb fucking wolf then he and his girl would be safe.

The crimson soaked area was set, his and wolves blood littered the floor he stood with his girl while the brow wolf stood with the bluish one he guesses that's the alpha's mate. He gripped his axe tightly as both moved forward a little the audience was set the wolves around in a cone while his girls sat against the wall to scared to do anything.

Both stare at each other man vs beast he was tried, but he knows after this he would be safe and so would the girls that what kept him going, no cost too great, doing this for them.

He took a step ran towards the wolf, raising his red axe he swung it at the beast but it moved quickly at the way, Cole followed it and saw it ready to launch at him he only had a split-second to react, and he dodges the large wolf as it turned towards him. This was no wild animal, it was smart but lucky he was smarter and angrier, adrenaline filled his body like a drug pain and fatigue was a faded memory as he thought this thing.

Again and again, the two danced around each other take official slash or bite at each other, the wolves and bunny girl watch it silently, Cole was about to take another slice at the beast but it was too quickly headbutting his hand, he lost the grip on the axe as it flew out his hand.

The shock of this let him open as he watched the wolf charge him, he was defenceless and beast when for his throat, the weigh of the monster was too much, and he fell onto the ground the wolf on top of him he used his free hand to hold it's necked up as it growled and tried to bite his neck.

His paw scratched his chest and arms he was getting weaker the wolf kept up its pursuit as it was getting closer and closer to him.

He eye fell to the girls as they huddled in fear, they had enjoyed so much, so much pain and if he fell now they will surely die by this wolf, memories of the past few days filled him, their happy smiles and cute curiously filled him with a sense of peace.

But then a terrible images tainted his ruined mind the girls bodies dead and eaten lying around the cave their golden hair turned red with their blood, all with tears in their eyes and his body laid nearby watching it all happen unable to do anything, unable to save them, not even a chance ask for forgiveness, to say sorry... Regrets.

Cole.

Snapped.

Rage and anger screamed through his body like the thunder of a thousand raging gods as he shouted a war cry, it consumed him a bloodlust rage, an unbreakable will to protect the last thing important to him, he gripped the beast's neck lifting him with unknown strength as he continued screaming like a banshee.

He raised and slammed the beast onto the ground the shock of it happen as he pressed his hand into the neck of the beast but a paw slashed his face cutting his left cheek making it bleed the beast wiggled out of his berserk grip.

But Cole was too fast using his human weigh to crush the beast as it laid on It's front, he used his right hand to grabbed the lower jaw of the wolf in its mouth and the other the grip the side of his head, Cole saw red as he lifted the beast into the air showing everyone, it whines was loud and clear as he held the beast.

He started toward the pack his eyes filled with rageful hatred, like a demon.

"I...WON'T LET YOU HURT MY FAMILY!"

Cole twisted the great wolf's neck, a loud snap could be heard through the whole cave, the might beast fell to the ground laying dead at his feet, Cole screamed at the others, blood covered his body, hand, shoulder, and face.

"IF I SEE ANY ONE OF YOU NEAR MY HOME OR MY FAMILY AGAIN! I WILL SLAUGHTER EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU WITH MY BARE FUCKING HANDS! YOU HEAR ME! EVERY LAST ONE OF YOU!" Cole shouted, his booming voice making them all cower in fear backing off.

The only one that didn't was the bluish one that just stared at him Cole radiated pure primal rage and bloodlust, It slowly walked towards him he stood his ground the beast was now trying to avoid eye contact as it came closer.

The bluish grey wolf sniffed it's fallen mate and looked at Cole he stared down at the beast not moving a muscle, it looked down gripped the wolf in it jaw slowly dragging it away from him towards the entrance.

Cole continued standing his ground the moment he saw movement he stares at it making a wolf back away in fear he stood in front of his girls protecting them, the bluish one howled gentle, and they started leaving the cave.

Cole watches four wolf grip the corpse of the brown one as it was dragged away, one by one the wolf left tail tucked under them non of them dared to even look at him the last to leave was the bluish grey one who stood guard over her pack, he was now the beast that they feared.

It turns and walked out but not before taking one last look at him standing there in the cave, it soon left leaving Cole completely alone with his girls.

He turned towards them they were more shocked than afraid he smiled gently before falling to the ground.

"Master!" they all shout running to him.

They all crowed and lifted him on his back he breathed heavily the snow calming his nerves.

"T-That was unbelievable you faced a whole wolf pack for us!" Holly shouted in excitement.

"I've never seen a human do that before I was so scared you would die," Polly said.

"Your amazing Master! Ashley said.

He only smiled reaching an injured arm up they all gripped it tightly holding it against their chest smiling.

"I-I'm sorry I shouldn't have sent you away... This is all my fault...I love you all, you little bundle of cuteness," Cole said smile.

Their eye widening, "Y-You love us?" Molly asked.

"Yeah, you said you loved me and...I've grown quite attached to you all so...Do you mind staying with me? A grumpy master like me?"

Their eye filled with heavy tears, "YES!" they all shouted hugging him tightly.

It was painful, but he didn't care he hugged his girls close his cute golden bunny girls.

They helped him up he grabbed his hand axe finally feeling at peace, then a loud roar could be heard from the inner cave, they all slowly turned and watched a massive brown bear came lumbering out.

"Really!?" Sally said, "a fucking bear!"

Cole moved pasted readying his axe.

"No Master you can't fight it, your too weak," Polly said urgently, "The entrance is no longer blocked let's run for it."

Cole looked at the bear and the entrance, he nodded and got moving they all started running, all started supporting Cole his injuries finally taking their toll.

The bear saw them and roared again chasing them they saw it coming and Holly tugged Cole towards her so he would avoid the bear's charge, the bear missed them all the others were too fast and Holly helped Cole enough to avoid the bear but now it blocked the entrance and even worst they were split apart, Molly ending up all alone.

The bear saw the shiny girl all alone and ran toward her she was petrified unable to move she didn't even hear her friend's or master voice shouting at her to move, the bear stood up towering over her raising a massive paw.

She closed her eye and waited from the end, the bear swiped down hard and heavily.

Molly waited and waited but nothing happened slowly opening her eye time slowed down as she saw a figure in front of her, it turned looking at her, Molly's eyes filled with tears as she saw Cole standing there.

The moment the bear stood Cole used the last of his energy to block the attack protecting Molly taking the hit, blood flowed from his shoulder down past his chest leaking down as the bear's claws dug deep into him, he turned and smiled gently at Molly.

"Run," was all he said before falling to the ground.

The bear stood again and seem to roar Molly stared at her master something filled her something she had never felt before she was a per prey animal but now... Now she was angry.

Molly screams at the bear seemingly caught off guard as she jumped up grabbing her Master's axe and swings at the beast.
