Many years ago I wrote a short story about a family considering a brain transplant for their young son. I tried to account for the various implications for memory and feelings. The story's not important, just that when I saw where your story was going, I could relate. In most transgender stories, the changes are external, trying to match the outside with the inside. In your story, the changes were internal, matching the inside with the outside. Well done.
