LOVE on the SAND

In the morning sun, we walked on the wet sand, to say our goodbyes. We stood and embraced as the cool surf washed in around our feet. She shivered, and I held her to me tightly.

"I don't want you to go," she said wistfully, tears rolling down her beautiful face."

My face was a little wet too, "And I hate to leave. But we'll be only a few hours apart by jet. And I will keep in touch. I may even send you one of my silly stories. And I'll send email, and teddy bears, and cards, and letters, and in every letter I will say the same thing: I love you, Honey...please, tell me, when are you coming?"

She kissed me tenderly then said, "I must tell you, I have a quirky habit of not giving my real name, until I thoroughly trust a person."

"Oh, then your name is not Honey?"

"My name is Brittni, and with all my heart I promise... you will see me again."
