Wow - talk about a hot story! I'm glad it wasn't printed out onto paper, because the paper might have burst into flame as I read it. I love the descriptions of you and Alan; Susan's timing with her phone call is delicious: Another acid test for Alan is approaching quickly. I imagine you going downstairs to move the clothes to the dryer (unless it's all done in only one machine?), giving Alan some pseudo privacy to talk with Susan, since your cameras will no doubt record his half of the conversation.
