"Is this your phone?" a child spoke from behind me. I turned my head forgetting that it was hurt. I clenched my teeth in agony. As that pulse of pain in my head dissipated, I saw a kid not more than seven years old, holding my phone in both of his hands.
"Yes," I extended my hand to grab it.
The kid handed the phone to me.
Like a muscle memory, I checked for any missed calls and then massages. There was a email titled "Congratulations!" It looked like spam from some hoax companies who claimed that you have won a billion dollar and stuff. I guess the internet was also laughing at me. The mail was already marked read so I closed my phone and lied down in the grass. I closed my eyes and tried to think about the series of events which led me here. "Was it all my fault? Could I have avoided it?"
