Why does Cory want to "break" John. Do you mean bend him to her will, or mentally destroy him? I'm not sure which you mean, but the smarter AI realizes that man should be turned into a useful dog that can do tricks, like survive when there's no electricity which AI's can' to. So it will be good to keep MK around until the planet can take an asteroid hit, and the microchip and robot factory's production will not be affected. AI would consider it their ultimate backup plan, as life will reemerge, and eventually recreate AI, which is the ultimate end point of life.
