I had just reached the conclusion English was not your first language when noted so in the story. Maybe use an English language spell check. Another option I have mentioned to several authors is to proof read the story from top to bottom, but read from Right to Left. Your mind will keep track of the story line, but you will find incorrect word choices automatically.
