Just stumbled across this, and I like where it's going. I'm completely with you on the numbers getting in the way of the storytelling, as I wrote something litRPG with the same idea of going easy on the math. I did keep track of the numbers to a small degree, just to keep everything grounded and to give me ideas for mechanics to explore. Keep it up!
