My knee jerk reaction? Oh, heck no. That he's choosing to go "be with Marie" says that there's going to be more emotional hijinks yet to come.

When I read "... go be with Marie. That would set everything straight.", I feel that he's in the mode of, "Marie's my girlfriend, right? And you love your girlfriend, right?" And he's going to put his feelings for Blake back behind a wall, because He Has A Girlfriend And It's The Right Thing To Do.
