I think elements of help and hinder are great. Let’s see how they’re playing the game, hinder those who may look for shortcuts and possibly help those that are really trying.
Maybe 2 teams team up after eating some pink apricots, that would be exciting

Anonymousover 1 year agoI'm surprised that while this is obviously Running Man–inspired (the fun movie with Arnie, not the depressing book), you forgot how the audience participation worked there and why: the audience voted which hunter and, to a lesser extent, hunting ground will be used. As in they decided on the challenge type and difficulty. Under such a system they could vote for a favorite hunter, their favorite hunting ground if applicable, and also, in a situation where the runners are separated, give the charismatic or sympathetic ones that they like easier challenges or set them up with a more merciful hunter, or sic a particularly sadistic hunter or unforgiving biome on a non-charismatic or arrogant runner they want to see destroyed. Perhaps utilizing also different challenge types, as in biomes that focus on and hunters who specialize in agility, tactics, strength or endurance — playing into a runner's strengths or attacking their weak points. Thus the audience is participating in the game, having an influence on what they get to see and who wins, while preserving the aspect of sportsmanship and the suspense. Making the runner's survival skill the ultimate deciding factor.
Changing it to letting the audience directly help or hinder a player makes the whole game less exciting. It takes away skill and even chance from the equation. It's not sport and not even a game show at that point — it's a popularity contest for people the audience literally just met. Might as well call the game "Who can make the best impression on the audience while being the least attractive" (that's the combination that would get you the most assists and the least hindrances). Spoiler: the ugly girl with the good personality will win every single episode.
