"Josh thank you" reaching over to him and giving him another long kiss filled with warmth passion and friendship.........

Chapter 5

Sam put the car in park noticing the man and the woman walking up to the steps of her apartment building. He reaches in the backseat for the cooler taking out a drink and sandwich his wife had packed for him before embarking on his journey tonight. She knew he would be late later than usual tonight. She was a good wife, no not good but understanding one with trust. She knew he worked for a long time friend a friend that was good to him. Giving him what he wanted and the only price was loyalty that was given back in return. Picking up his binoculars aiming them at Alana's room noticing the light coming on in her apartment he took a bite of his sandwich washing it down with his warm soda. Sam finished his sandwich sitting in the car he continued to glance up at the apartment. He was here to supervise his men in the van a block away where they monitored the bugs he had planted and record the images from the camera he had also placed. Sam sat and stared at the window daydreaming only picking up the binoculars when he noticed the curtains opening in the apartment window. It was her confused at what was happening Sam looked threw the binoculars.

"What is she doing?" mumbling to himself. Sam watched the show with amusement as she stripped in front of the window dancing rhythmically to an unknown music. Alana disappeared from the window. Almost putting the binoculars down she reappeared with the gentlemen she went to dinner with.

"She's not." Sam exclaimed. "She is" Sam surprised at the event unfolding in front of him. Sam turned and looked around noticing if anyone was watching the show he was watching on the third floor of the building. The only others that would be watching would be the boys in the van. They would not be able to see much because the cameras he had placed did not cover this area. Wishing he had not seen what he was watching Sam knew this was not the usual for this woman everything he has found out about her the past few days. The woman his boss had asked him to investigate was conservative if not prudish. Alana was an educated woman. Who worked hard to get to where she is in her company. Sam knew Alana was a hard worker and would get the job that his Boss was planning to hire her for. Alana has never been married. She grew up in the Midwest, moved to the coast when she was going to school never moved back. Her mother passed away when she was young. She was raised by her father no other brothers or sisters. Alana was not the typical spoiled child that can be common with an only child. Sam thought to himself as he continued to watch her exploits in the window. Sam even though he has never met her, he feels like he knows her. Knowing enough to realize that something was going on with her.

When the curtains had closed once more Sam opened the door to his car and got out stretching his back he walked over to the next block to where the van was parked he opened the door to the rear and climbed in.

The van was equipped with the latest in spy technology he had told his boss when he asked, for the money to purchase it. Closing the doors, he glanced at the TV screen showing the empty bedroom picking up headphones Sam over heard the conversation that was taking place in the living room as he listened to the words. Sam knew his hunch was right something troubled Alana.

Sam talked to the two men in the van carrying out the nights surveillance on Alana, the three joked about the job they were doing how it was a dirty job but someone had to do it. The laughter cleared the air Sam said good night and walked back to his car.

His night was over he was returning to his wife. She would be in bed when he got home. It would be nice just to be next to her even if she slept. Tomorrow Sam would be able to spend the afternoon with her after he went to see his boss.

Sam arrived at the office in the early morning he knew his long time friend well and he would be in this early to work.

Markus was a god decent man but he liked to play games. Games Sam was growing tired of, Markus had a legitimate reason to hire him if you are going to succeed in business you need someone to find the dirt and to do an occasional dirty job or two. That man was Sam he does his job to well at times Markus had noticed and even encourage him to cut back and relax a little.

Sam entered the office with the tapes from last night, the photo's that had been taken during the day and the rest of the information he had gathered on Alana. Sam placed the file on the desk.

"Morning Sam would you like some coffee?" Markus asked.

"Yes please!"

Markus handed Sam a full cup. Sam excepting the coffee took a sip and sat down in the chair across from Markus.

"So what did you find out for me?" Markus said.

"More than I wanted to know Markus. She is a time bomb waiting to go off, but she is a hard worker and would serve your company well."

With an eyebrow raised. "What do you mean a time bomb waiting to go off?"

"Don't get me wrong she is good at her work and I think she will be a good asset. Just don't mess with her mind like I have seen you do in the past with others. Alana seems to be looking for something."

"What are you talking about Sam?"

"Look at the file I have made listen to the tapes from last night and you will see what I mean."

"I will. Now get out of here Sam I know you are going to spend sometime with your wife today. I told you this could have waited until later to go over."

"Ok I get the hint I am going. Look at the tapes and you will understand what I am saying Markus. Just be careful with this girl."

"Tell the Misses I said Hi and congratulations again."

"I will."

The two men stood and shook hands Sam was pleased Markus didn't have another chore for him this morning. Sam left the office building smiling he was happy to be going home today he wanted to be with his wife today for it was her first doctors appointment since finding out that she was pregnant.

Chapter 6

The next morning at work, Tom came into Alana's office.

"Alana!" he asked as he knocking on her door.

"Yes! Tom what can I do for you." Looking up from what she was reading.

"Alana I have a surprise for you."

Amused at Tom's statement she closed the folder she was reading.

"Alana I want you to attend the Alabasters Spring party in a week."

"Why?"

" You have been invited personally. You are to go there and meet with the head of sales and production a Mr. Poloski to discuss the account. They are supposed to let us know the following Monday if we have a contract with them. Dress formal and I have been granted permission to give an expense account for this party."

"Tom what are you talking about? What do you mean an expense account? Who is this Poloski I am supposed to meet with?" Alana stared at Tom while he continued to speak expecting an answer.

"Alana you get to go shopping. You get to shop for an outfit. You will be filled in on the rest of the events some time this week. I have been instructed to give you almost any help you need to get ready for this party."

"How much do I have to spend?"

"Lets just say go out and get what you need put it on this."

Tom hands Alana a credit card. Alana look at it after taking it from Tom's hand.

"A credit card?"

"I guess they will tell you if you go over the limit of the card."

Shocked Alana walked over and put it in her purse. "Tom I have another question. Why me?"

"Alana I am not trying to sound condescending. I don't really know. I had the same question myself when I was told about it this morning. You are a good worker but we have others that handle this type of event. If I find out I will let you know."

After Tom left her office, Alana picked up the phone and dialed Joshes number.

Alana asked Josh if he could meet her to take her shopping tonight.

Josh agreed and the two set a time to meet. Alana penciled in the date for the party and called Sheila asking her to clear her calendar for that day and instructing Sheila to make a hair appointment for the same morning. After telling Sheila what had just happened. The two women were giddy as schoolgirls the rest of the day.

Josh picked Alana up after work. Alana greeted Josh with a friendly hug and kiss.

" I guess last night is over" Josh stated and smiled at Alana.

"Oh! Josh you know what last night was about. I was feeling sorry for myself."

"I know but I was hoping for a little more."

"Josh what do you mean more. Don't you remember why we broke up in college, if I remember right your words were. I was to much of a prude."

"Yes, I remember and you called me immature." Disappointed Josh changed the subject. "Where are we going tonight Alana?"

"We are going shopping for clothes.

"For clothes! You said you wanted to take me shopping for clothes didn't you?"

"Hum!" Josh let out a small sigh. "Yes I did, but I didn't think it was going to be the next night."

"Were you doing something tonight Josh?" Alana smiled back at him with a mischievous grin.

"Now I am." Josh Laughing at Alana.

Alana told Josh which store to go to. Josh was surprised at her choice and expense of the store. Alana explained to him what was going on at work.

Josh was impressed he explained to Alana that he knew a little bit about what was going on with the Alabasters. That usually only people high up in the company got the invitations to go to the Alabaster spring fling. The two laughed and talked about various subject during the drive to the store. Arriving they got out and walked into the store. The sales person greeted them immediately. She was older well dressed, polite; shaking hands in a formal introduction.

"May I help the two of you?"

"Yes you may"

"Both of you looking for clothes?" The Sales person replied to Alana.

Alana looked at the woman replying to the sales persons question.

"No we just need clothes for me."

"Will you be attending a cocktail party, dinner party or something else?" The sales person inquired.

Josh clearing his throat as politely as he could told her that she was attending the Alabasters spring get together on the 15th.

Surprised Alana looked at Josh knowing she had not told him the date.

"Oh yes we have had several people in lately especially for this event. Please wait here I will be right back." The sales person hurried off.

Alana looked at Josh asking him if she was the only one on the planet that did not know about the Alabasters party in the spring.

"You must be Alana I thought you knew how big this is."

"No I guess I don't."

"It's big, humongous, gigantic, and enormous."

"All right I get the picture Josh!"

The sales associate returned with a man introducing him to Josh and Alana.

"Excuse Me Ma'am. We don't mean to be rude but can we have your name please?"

Alana looked startled she told them her name.

"We are very sorry for this inconvenience ma'am but I will be right back if you can wait for a moment again?"

Alana looked at the two again "yes sure I can wait."

The gentleman walked over to the phone on the check out desk and dialed a few numbers. He was dressed in a black silk suite a man of importance Alana thought to herself.

Alana could hear her name being given over the phone and then the man told the person on the other end of the phone thank you.

The gentleman returned to Josh and Alana.

"Alana I am so sorry for the wait but I hope you understand that something so exclusive we had to check to make sure you were on the list."

Alana looking at the man not understanding what he had just said or meant she nodded and said yes.

"How can we help you tonight? Madam"

"I need a dress."

"Of coarse if you will follow Miss Sachelle she will help you find anything you want. She is one of my best associate."

Miss Sachelle showed the two of them to another part of the store. Miss Sachelle brought out several dresses for Alana to try on. A crew of many assisted her helping Alana try on the dresses and different accessories to each dress. Alana thought to herself that a queen in this store wouldn't have been treated much better than she was being treated. After an hour of trying on dresses, Alana and Josh finally agreed upon one dress, Josh thought she looks magnificent in it. Miss Sachelle agreed.

Josh took Alana shopping for new under garments. Alana tried on several different types. Josh could see Alana was starting to have fun shopping for her new clothes. After Alana had purchased a few things and after they had chosen the dress for the party, she was to attend in a few days. Josh drove Alana home to her apartment. Alana thanked Josh for the wonderful evening. Alana gathered her things and gave Josh a friendly goodbye kiss on the check thanking him for the fun she had.

Chapter 7

Alana walked across the room filled with people. Evening gown glittering in red the dress was snug on her hips the back open the front cut low in a v-shape covering most of her breasts. Showing just enough to know they were supple and elegant. The dress was accented by a simple design down the front to the hem an off shade of red. Alana looked breath taking. Alana moved across the floor with composure and grace. A waiter approached her offering Champagne. Alana lifted a glass from the tray and drank a sip. Thanking the waiter her eyes gazing over the room. The walls high, covered with artwork. Different artists some familiar some she did not know. Impressive she thought to herself. Paintings hung from each wall. Off the oak paneling, half way down the wall had fine patterned wallpaper in light olive green and gray with the lines of the leaves done in velvet to match. Chandeliers hung from the ceiling, made of crystal, brass and doors made of solid oak marvelously crafted in a design. The furniture was antique. A couch and a few chairs sat to form a circle in the large room. Guests drinking and conversing about business and gossip were a few things she over heard standing and sipping her glass. Across the room, she saw two chairs next to a window with beautiful drapes. Fine linen hanging from the top of the window. Behind the two chairs was a bookcases made of oak. The two chairs in the same decor as the others were vacant. Alana walked to the chairs she admitted to herself the room was stunning.

The people were well dressed she recognized some she didn't others. The people were polite and almost a bit to elitist for her as she played her amenable role for the social event.

Alana sat near the window out of the way. She felt comfortable peering out the window into the night sky watching a ballet of lights from the city below.

Alana turned to look at the crowd. Sipping her glass, Alana responded to a woman requesting her attention. Alana saw him! Sitting on the couch, he was laughing. He talked with a man twice his age and the man was balding. Alana couldn't help but admire the boldness and gracefulness of the stranger and the authority he commanded.

"Alana how are you?" Asked the woman that sat next to Alana as Alana eyes kept reverting to the gentleman on the couch. Not answering her Alana looked at him intrigued by the gentlemen on the couch.

His face was hard. Sitting proper, he filled the dinner jacket he wore. He was listening when he need to listen and responding to the balding gentleman when necessary.

"He is from New York!" Sahara told Alana, "He owns several businesses and is very wealthy. Alana, I thought you didn't go for the executive type." Sahara asked Alana louder not wanting to be ignored.

"I don't," Alana replied, "but there is something about him."

"Yes about one hundred million dollars about him that makes him interesting." Sahara Laughing at her own words. Amused by Alana Sahara also look at him.

Alana didn't respond to the comment.

He glanced at her briefly. Alana looked away quickly. Starting to blush Alana was caught staring.

"Well Alana, you have his attention now" Sahara said in jest. Looking at him again Alana couldn't help but stare. Mystified with him she asks Sahara "Who is he?" "Did you not hear what, I have been telling you Alana!"

"No, I am sorry." Shyly Alana reverts her eyes to the floor.

"No, need to be he is gorgeous and worth staring at, I don't blame you."

Sarah repeats what she said earlier to Alana. "Well good luck dear I have to be going. Give me a call sometime we will catch up on gossip and things."

She bids goodbye to Alana. Alana gets up from where she is sitting wandered threw out the room. Mingling with the others Alana was keeping an eye on the gentlemen on the couch. Another woman told Alana he came alone about an hour ago. While Alana was talking to the woman, she felt him looking at her. Alana turns watching him get up. He turns as if he might walk over to her. Alana becomes nervous trembling slightly as he approaches. He walks up to Alana and introduces himself. Alana's mouth dry from the champagne and from being nervous. Alana only is able to say hi. Before her voice cracks. She quickly takes a gulp of her champagne.

He tells Alana that he noticed her when she walked in the door. How beautiful she looked. He just had to find out who she was.

He was everything she had expected and more, he was kind, his eyes shone more brilliant than what she had seen from across the room. Well mannered not to mention he was more attractive up close. Alana's hands sweating she couldn't believe how nervous she was with him up close.

They talked. The more he said the more attracted she was to him. Then she noticed something! She was being seduced. The more he talked the more roused she was. She felt her own arousal. It hit her. She needed him. Silence fell over them. He looked at her she was stunning. Entranced by her beauty, he took her hand feeling its clamminess when he accepted her hand in his. He began to walk.

Resisting at first, Alana wondered what he was doing. He reassured her it was OK to follow him. He led her to another room with stairs. He walked up the stairs and she followed. Leading her into a room down the hallway, when the two entered the room, he turned and kissed Alana. Kissing her deep and passionately, Alana responded to his kiss, her tongue swirling with his. Breaking the kiss, he walked over to the closet pulling a gown from it. He asked Alana to change into the gown as he excused himself. He went into the restroom that adjoined the room.

The room was dimly lit with candles. Alana was standing next to the bed. Wearing a long sinuous nightgown, He pulled out of the closet Alana changed into while waiting for him. The sheerness of the gown showed her shapely body, silky legs, hips curvaceous and breasts full with a hint of pink showing threw the nightgown. Alana's face soft, lips supple and rosy. Her face pale cheeks glowing, hair long with blond curls candlelight dancing off her hair. He thought to himself. She was beautiful! Looking at her in the candlelight standing at the bathroom door, the aroma of her perfume filled the room. Malleable light smell of musk and vanilla that was splashed on the intimate parts of her filled his nostrils.

He looked at her. He stared at her wanting to remember this moment. He walked to her. Feeling aroused intoxicated by her looks. He stared painting her in his mind. She was a thing of beauty worth memorizing.

He came closer, Alana watched him as he walked to her. He was tall, hair dark and skin light. He walked with confidence, but had a gentle approach as she watched him. He wore clothes that showed his powerful and muscular body. The contours of his face were chiseled and hard.
