where does the time go?

You had not been here in 12 years but your stories go on.

I gave probably read Laura's Vineyard a half dozen times and still give it 5 stars...it is more than an erotic tale. It is a story of someone's life when they fear that there is no life.I'm sure a lot of people like I were touched by this story.

And although you have not written in some time. I hope this finds you well and with as much life as Laura possessed in your story.

Damn you. I wanted to cum and you made me cry. I hurt for Laura, and she isn't even real. I guess that this is the mark of a gifted writer. To be able to wring these responses of laughter and tears, emptiness and pride and all the others with just your dreams and words. Beautiful.

Are you even real???

You made me cry second time today, and I have only cried once before in my thirty years. Dear Ronde, you are truly gifted writer. I don't even know how to describe how wonderful your stories are, especially this one. When we expect sex you give us love, when we expect love you give us sorrow, and when we are going through that you give us hope, and then again love. You just know how to mess with the readers minds and hearts. At the end of the story you leave us crying mess and then some.

I agree with both comments under me XD

Well you and another writer made me tear up today. Here I am to get myself off and I pick 2 stories today that make me cry. Like Nick Jonas stated, "I came out to have a good time, but honestly I'm feeling so sad right now." (replaced attacked with sad if you haven't heard this funny quote) 5/5

Lost for words

After a week I'm still trying to think of something to say that hasn't already been said!!

Each time I think of this story, I end up feeling all choked up with tears not only in my eyes, but rolling down my cheeks!! I honestly can't think of another writer that has evoked such a response in me, and I've read quite a few stories.

WELL DONE, & KEEP GOING......... PLEASE!!!

THE BEST in LITEROTICA!

I consider this the best story in all of Literotica. In fact, it is the best short story I ever read anywhere.

I am familiar with the region having attended college in nearby northern Indiana, though I am from the deep south. I grew up on a fruit farm. Reading this brought back memories of my childhood and youth and the old man that was our "Crazy Laura". Crippled by polio as a youth he was a mighty high school teacher and example. Thank you for this beautiful, believable story. readloc

I don't know how to say what I feel. There are very few stories that affect me the way that this one does. This one tells so many stories. One of Love and loss. The story of his first time and how erotic it was. His work ethic in helping her, working long hours for very little, knowing that it wouldn't pay for school. His success and sadness in losing her. Her love and generosity to him at her end and his happiness with Wendy and continueing Laura and Charlie's dream. In only 3 pages. Thank you for a great read.

It takes a lot

to touch me inside the way this story did. Thank you very much for this effort. I'm so happy that I stumbled across this story accidentaly. As writer you used the words and created more than just another story but created feeling inside the reader (moi) and took me away from here and into there with them. I can only hope that you will continue your efforts and that we will meet again inside one of your stories. Again ... thank you for sharing this with me/us.

It's unusual

In the midst of so many, everyone has it in him to be different. You stood out from the lot. This story will be an award-winning film in the right hands. Your piece is exceptional and I'm grateful to have read it. Thank you.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 9 years ago
Thank You

The others are right. This is so unusual and I'm a sentimental fool and a little bit of a romantic. I cried. I'm glad I'm alone cause I guess I look funny. 6'tall and tears streaming down. I do think this would make the basis for a good movie, if isn't taken too far. An incompetant writer or a director with his little head doing his thinking could ruin this easily. This stands alone even from your other work. I can think of one or two others that have moved me this way. 'Beyone the Boarderline 1& 2' come to mind immediately. I like stories with a little bit of love, a little bit of sex, a little bit of sadness, fond memories and a good story aside from the emotional aspect. This has hit all of the buttons. Thanks.

Still Brings a Tear to the Eye

I have come back to this story a number of times since I first found and every time it brings a tear to the eye. The sweetness and love between the characters more than makes up for the lack of physical sex in the story.

Nitpicking Fact Check

Loved your story, but since I am about the same age as the narrator, I checked out something that bugged me. $3K per year for tuition, room and board sounds very low to contemporary students even of state universities, but Michigan in the 1960s supported its state university system very well. Like most public university systems before the Age of Reagan, MSU was designed so that the non-rich could attend. The actual tuion was about $100 per semester. Tuition, room and board for a year would have run about $1K, not $3K.

This was before administrators and football coaches got 3 figure salaries that could finance entire English departments, and before states cut more and more tax funding from public universities, depending on lotteries to try to make up the difference. Unlike most of post-WWII Europe, U.S. public universities weren't free, but they were far closer than they are now.

Of course, that is a tiny, and, as I said, nitpicking, error in a very sexy story that I really did like. But I thought you and literotica readers might want to know how the so-called "Reagan Revolution" screwed this country.

Peace--and lots of good sex to all!

AnonymousAnonymousover 8 years ago
once in a blue moon ....?

Occasionally on here, I read a story containing humanity, respect and genuine feelings. This is one such example. Ignoring any inconsistencies, the story is strongly threaded, the sex is coincidental, and necessary at that single moment.

I suspect there is an element of truth which is both wonderful and moving to discover. This story is a superb balance of erotic tension and genuine hard graft.

One of the best in here. This story is for those who Read.

The Welsh Man.

Sad,Almost Haunting,But Beautiful.

- Talk about bittersweet!

- A wonderful, excellently presented story that could be adapted for the screen.

- Anyone who reads this and doesn't have some tears rolling down his/her cheeks just doesn't understand love and life.

- Death may be final but, love lives on and grows.

- Thank you for this hauntingly beautiful story!

I Share historicaly and emotionaly with this story.

I have a special relationship with this area of the world. Although I Grew up in Florida, my family was all from upper Indiana and lower Michigan, and mainly dairy and fruit farmers. Thus the strong identification with this beautiful story. This story brought back so many wonderful memories of my youth, the rich black soil and college days as a pre-med student. I think this is the best story on the internet, not just Literotica.

Thank you Ronde.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 8 years ago
I sincerely hope the main theme of the story is true?

Even though I live 13,500 kilometres away from Michigan this story still touched me so deeply that something in me is hoping that parts of it are true.

I'm referring to the main theme of the story.

Student struggling financially and to find work, hard work that pays off in the end, humans reaching out to each other with compassion to knowingly or unknowingly help realise each other's dreams.

So many things I can strongly associate with, because I've been through similar struggles.

Imagine a world where humans could touch each other's lives through normal everyday actions like this? Isn't that one of the main reasons we were created in the first place?

Thank you Ronde for reminding us what it means to be human.

nice

Nice work. My only suggestion is that you change the ford tractor piece. Lead acid batteries of the kind found in that era tractor would be completely dead after several years of non use. I think it very unlikely that it would hold a charge strong enough to start a tractor the next day. You could just have him crank the engine as he did. also, you could add the part about never wrap your thumb around an engine crank, as the kickback can break your hand or arm. Thank you for writing.

This is at least 3rd read and the time period is when I was in high school to college and met the love of my life little over 52 years ago. It also reminded me of time when a friend and I tried a part tim job of picking peaches for next to nothing/hour. Again, great story.

You got me

Oh my...this story is so much like what I'm living right now, just the roles reversed.

I'm 63, she's 29, I lost my wife of 38 years to cancer awhile ago. When Mia came into my life I was becoming a grumpy old fart after my loss. I didn't give a damn about anything anymore. Mia started helping me in my art business and asking me about relationship advice. Soon she kicked the father of her baby out because he was abusing her. I told her that she did the right thing and helped her with extra money and caring for the little girl while she worked her other jobs. Mia is a very smart and wise young woman, a hard worker, a great mom and unbelievably beautiful. I regularly told her these things. For the last several months things have changed from just friends to her telling me that she was in love with me and the rest is now history as they say. I still don't get it but it has been the greatest experience of my lifetime. I could write more but not here,

Thank you for this story, it made me cry and Mia, too!

Love is Forevermore

Beautiful love story about friendship, passion, love, and wine.Have read it several times, beautifully written with strong passions, imagery, deeply senserous.Know area of Michigan, where story is located, have fond memories of a couple who owned a five acre farm in Covert. They met in Alabama in the 1950's, he was African-American, she was Caucasian, ended up in the Midwest an interracial couple, literally run out of the deep.South.Their love endured until his death, following an accident on a tractor. She moved back to Alabama, returning to her family after many years of estrangement. She died years later at the age of 100.I can picture the two of them farming again on their farm in Covert, Michigan.

Women tend to be the central characters in my stories, because I find their complex personalities to be fascinating. My stories come from my life experiences or the thoughts inspired by people I have met. I am an avid fan of history and especially the history of the America...
