Hilarious story (and of course very romantic). I loved the ending.<p>The line, "Then from the farthest, most remote part of left field, Ben, without looking up and between mouthfuls of potatoes, said, 'Candy, does this mean you're not a lesbian any more?'" is one of the best lines in any story anywhere - I cracked up. These characters could merit a sequel or two - push out a few rug rats and have some more adventures. Well done, LYG.

while I was very critical of leapyearguy's other story, this is outrageously funny.... because the humor is intricately and sophisticatedly interwoven with the seriousness of it, in such a way that you cann't really distinguish the one from the other.... even the sad part (though never discussed: both parents knew that Candy's been a lesbian most of her life, yet she thought she fooled the dad and he let her think so, yet deep down both he and the mother gave up ever having grandchildren...).... even that sad part was resolved nicely because of the seemingly INEXPLICABLE switch/change of hormones, hearts, and circumstances... <p>

When the old clewless dad finally and deadpanly said, without lifting eyes off of the TV screen to say, "Now, does that mean you're no longer a lesbian, Candy?", now that's precious! It's funny, appropriate, and serious at the same time.............. It WORKED in this case, in this story......

Yeah, there is some humor in it but it's pure romance! No reason love can't be fun.

This is one of the best stories I have ever read on this site. Maybe the best. Thanks for sharing it with me. This reminds me of times past when a lot of good stories were posted here. Now we mostly have queers, creeps, and perverts posting piss-poor trash. I am anxious to review your other stories if there are any more. Hoping.

This is a good story line and the humor is fantastic.. I laughed through the whole story.. Picturing Candy, I had a problem at the same time Don did.. Just how lucky can a guy get?? She's beautiful, cleans house like scrubbing bubbles and COOKS great, like Emeril [REALLY important] and she is in love with him.. What more could he ask for?? Her Dad and Mom are pretty darn nice, and smart, too!! Great in-laws?? Priceless..

I give this one an extra 10 for the humor.

I loved the humor, suspense and ending of the story! However, given the nature of the changes and I do believe in love at first sight you probably should have doubled the story length. People just do not give up a lifestyle in a week. It would have been nice to find why she chose the lesbian path even on a temporary basis.________________

Wow. All this praise for a story that bashes lesbians and women with that sort of sexual orientation. Let's see, Vivian needs a "real man," and Candy needed to get women out of her system, and, of course, there's no way she could have given mom grandkids without a husband, oh, and he made her a "real woman."

Again and again, heterosexuality is praised, and Lesbianism is presented as unnatural and wrong. And yet, there was no reason at all for the story to be that way. Candy could have been honestly bi-sexual and the dislike of Vivian could have been a dislike of a person. But the author, instead, took some really cheap, anti-lesbian shots that, to me, made the story really mean and nasty.

Thumbs down from me.

This reminded me of the CAT5 story "One Little White Lie". In both, two people come together to pretend they are a couple in order to fool others and save face for the woman.

This particular story is so well written, with such a deft touch that you can't help but love it. I look forward to reading your next tale.

I feel a need to comment on the last commentor concerning 'lesbian' bashing. This story involves a woman who was clearly not a confirmed lesbian. I found nothing in the story that suggested some bashing of a sexual preference. Quite the opposite, the lead male here is very sensitive to this woman's supposed orientation.

It's no secret that female sexuality is more fluid than male sexuality. Today there is a form of 'lesbian chic' invading popular media. Young women are more prone, for whatever reason, to engage in lesbian experimentation than men with men.

In prison, some 80% (a real statistic) of female inmates have lesbian relationships while incarcerated yet over 90% have children from heterosexual relationships. When released, the vast majority resume heterosexual lifestyles. Makes one wonder about the debate over nature or nurture being the drivers for homosexuality.

The botton line is that sexuality is much more complicated than expressed in most fiction, regardless of how well written. Said another way...it is only a story.

I was happy to see that you treated lesbians as real people, not a protected class. If you heard the way gay's and lesbians talk to about one another IRL! They can be as brutal and nonPC as a country song!

This was my first time to read anything erotic on-line. Your story will make it hard for me to appreciate much else. Loved the humor and the characters...especially the down-to-earth Don. Enjoyed it!

I enjoyed the romance storytelling. I agree with some of the other posters with respect to Candy's sexual orientation. If she's truly a lesbian, she will not find sex with a man enjoyable. Had you portrayed her as bi-sexual with a preference for women, that would've given the tale more credibility.

Still and all, it was a well-told story with nicely done characters, an interesting plot, and good prose.

And I still find this one of the sweetest stories on this site. One of my absolute favorites.

I would also like to add that the way some other posters below have tried to dictate to the world what is (or should be) or is not credible because the chick was/is a lesbian or whatever, well its just silly. Why are people continually trying to pigeonhole other people. Put them in a box, label it gay, straight, bi or lesbian, and then seal it shut... it's just fucking boring, ok? it's old, tired, been argued to death repeatedly, and seriously, no one cares anymore - even my gay and lesbian friends and relatives agree! Just drop it, build a fucking bridge and get over it.

These idiotic arguments only serve to dampen a great story.

Sex is just friction. Think about it. No matter what sex act you are talking about whether it is between woman/man, woman/woman, or man/man, it is just rubbing a sexual organ against something else. Sexual orientation is mental. Well actually any type of sexual arousal is mental. It is all in the brain as to how excited you get and how good an orgasm you have. That said, of course all of our brains are not the same. Some may have had an early trauma with sex which has influenced how they think Perhaps the brain chemicals have something to do with how they think about sex. It is still somewhat of a mystery as to what causes sexual arousal to be orientated one way or another. So although I do find the plot of this story to be improbable, I in no way find it to be impossible. We all know that love can exist without sex so is it such a stretch to imagine that love can be powerful enough to overcome sexual orientation and the sex is simply an outgrowth of that love?

Wonderful straightman, great gals, lots of clever phrases.

Wish there were more stories like this being published.

Great storyline - girl thinks she knows who and what she is until she is exposed to something different and nice - anything is possible - not all actions are choices but many choices are reversible.

The only down sides are the last two sentences (a bit cliche in comparison to the rest of the writing), and the ease of the female protagonists' switch. She is, now, not lesbian but living with someone who is bisexual isn't necessarily a walk in the park.

Still - the thing that would make me happiest is to see more of your work.
