I was in and out of Okinawa twice in the 70's, first time as a sergeant, and second time as a Captain. My wife, when I met her, had two older men as lovers, who she kept during the time we dated. I knew that she would have trouble being celibate when I was away for a year.

So I sat her down, and said, no babies, no STD's, be discrete, and try not to break up someone else's marriage. It worked very well for both tours
